I ended up selling that X7, but I'm working on something else now...
The BT4 makes a better platform for this because the lower Picatinny rail comes further back to the trigger frame and is closer to the plane of the barrel. Overall it should make the finished gun much more compact. In the picture above it's got a 14" barrel as opposed to the 17" on the Tippmann.
I've got all the parts I'll need to rig both guns up for gas input. Should get around to the plumbing in the next couple of days.

You're right. I thought about removing the grip entirely the first time I started messing around with this concept, but I found that the Trracer's .45 frame makes a very nice foregrip and helps to manage all the weight.
Speaking of Trracers...
Not as practical without the provision to mount an Empire springfeed though, and I sold that pump a while back anyway.
