I've got a green light from the misses to buy a freak kit. And I'm checking out the deadly winds with freak kit. So I'm wondering what you guys think of it. Or would you try something else?

I love my DW barrel. I also have a complete Shaft 4 kit, but I always use the Fibur. Best barrel I've ever used.

The fibur barrel with the freak boremaster kit was the best barrel I've ever used hands down. You can't go wrong

basically, decide if you want a cf barrel or not first. then narrow it down.

Aluminum,etc: Disruptive Death Touch

If you've got $175 to drop on a kit there's a sale on the empire super freak posted in the news section. That's a nice kit with lots of tip options and a decent spread of inserts.

Are the carbon fiber barrels to light. I had a guy tell me one time they are to light and mess up the balance of the marker. I wouldn't think there would be that much difference.

wwwhhaaaatttttt???????????? all about balance man lol marq's are SUPER heavy but they are very nicely balanced so they hold well.

DW is an AMAZING kit BUT be warned the quality control from them is CRAP ive owned 4 of their barrels because each time i bought one, the freak inserts didnt line up well in the bore. as soon as paint touches the walls of the tip (main body of the barrel) the entire shot is fubar. look down the tip of the barrel at the "ring" where the body and insert make contact, if that isnt a perfect circle your boned. so far 80 percent of the dw's ive seen have terrible alignment, just keep sending them back for replacement untill you get one that actually lines up.

when you get a good one though..... money. shoot themselves clean, i think they weigh like 78 grams with the insert or some crazy thing like that so super light but the balance all depends on what gun and how you hold it. had one on my creed which already didnt weigh a thing and i tell you what lol.

shaft 4 has a longer control bore so is more efficient and more consistent over the chrono but if you have paint that varies in size, the other kits like shaft, broomstick, shift ect ect are expensive to keep up with because each back is like 30 bucks.

anyways. DW for the win unless you know for a fact what bore your paint is all season which is very rare lol.

My DW has been perfect since I got it. absolutely love how it shoots. I also like the Disruptive Death Touch and the shaft 4 with DW Whip tip

^^^ balance is important. I don't mind the lighter barrel, it puts the weight back towards my shoulder. The big issue would be a front heavy marker. More weight further away from your body is bad.

I've been considering DW Fibur hard.... But how much do Shaft 4 boost barrel kit weight?

Always thought Google had answer to everything... apparently not when it comes to barrel weights.

The Death Touch looks nice but they don't have a full kit in Dust Black and Dispruptive Paintball does't answer their phone, you can't leave messages and they don't answer emails.

I have to agree that they have horrible customer support. I tried to buy the full kit. The website didn't show it all so I emailed. No reaponse after 2 emails. Then I called. When they finally answered they said they don't have all the pieces. I said I can wait how long will it be. They said don't bother waiting. Apparently they have no clue when they get more stock and don't care about making sales. I just bought one piece for now but would like to buy more since its a great barrel but they're horrible to deal with.

they dont have dust black 13" tip or dust black .678 back and they have no idea when its coming in.

The difference in all aluminum barrels is negligible. Try a stainless barrel before you even think about *****ing about balance.

I had to choose between a CF boomstick, a freak kit, or the deadlywind kit. After a lotta research and back and forthing I chose the deadlywind fibur kit.

I have a Stiffi MF right now so it wont be that much of a difference to me, I'll just have all the boring options which will be great for when I play pump

Played with my DW Fibur for the first time last night, Very impressed!

Pro:
Lighter than my shaft 4. (Hell it was lighter than the Shaft 4 back alone.)
Accurate when proper bore size is picked.
Cheaper @ $160 for barrel and 8 freak insert than buying shaft4 and 2 back.
Made my ego a bit quieter.
Down right sexy!

Cons:
Can be expensive for some people but worth it IMO.

I was using Empire Revolver since 2007, then got my ego and used the Shaft 4 but wanted to go lighter so I ended up buying DW Fibur and damned stoked that I did.

I play the following barrels...
1) Empire Apex 2 barrel
2) 12" Freak tear drop tip
3) Deadly Find Fiber 14"
4) Stock barrel


Best of the group was the Deadly Wind Fiber. It's inserts are perfect in the case and smaller than the Freak hard case. It's the most accurate, light, silent, and durable barrel. I took a hard fall on the barrel and it held up to a 200 pound guy falling on it. The weight doesn't offset the marker, I play a remote line on a mini with a rotor with this barrel and it's the most accurate setup I've ever played. It groups in 3" diameters for 3 shot bursts at 60' for me.

The Apex is nice, but if you want to shoot straight, the Deadly Wind Fiber is a improved Freak Barrel that's the best I've played.
