sorry Chaz, I get your point of view, but I do disagree. I guess if you think the PSP "guidelines" or some other factor to "up the seriousness" of this sport, than the "closely related layouts" are good. I differer to fun... experience is what it is all about, so different layouts are key. Even the Absurd ones. When I was competing, (keep in mind I'm a strange dude)...but to me playing the SOS, that's
what is out of whack. I have a new respect for the EPL and players to invite this type of field.
Just a matter of perspective.

True, just a matter of perspective. And I would totally "have fun" on this field. But the my point is, how is the sport supposed to move forward with random layouts in tournaments? But hey, leave moving the sport forward to PSP and APPA.

An experienced paintball player can play anywhere.

What do you mean all about the snake player? If you trying to say that layouts normally benefit snake players, you're crazy!
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a forum Dbag or anything. I'm just giving my point of view, and if you disagree, that's fine. I don't think my opinion is right and everyone elses is wrong..... I hate that sort of crap.

chaz...I completely understand what you are saying, You are looking for consistency in field designs to help with progressing as a sport....

So can I assume there won't be a d side next tourny?

although I didn't think the epl was changing the size of its fields? As far as I know its still 100x150 feet.
The whole point of changing a layout is making the field play differently. It seems like certain people have problems with "adapting" and it is too soon for us to tell about playing....I just think some of us have a hard time "adapting" to the idea of the field. Which it makes perfect sense that Jason came up or at least had the idea since he is someone with a lot of paintball experience and I am sure can adapt in both palying and ideas.
lol...no offense chad

Just play ball. Stop whining and complaining about it. Just practice the field, get your ideas about what you want to do and just play. No field is going to be to everyones liking. As someone stated before, a good player can play anywhere on the field. Just play ball guys.

Im not talking about the size of the field, but the layout of the bunkers.
Also I feel like people think that the reason i dont like this layout is because it is "outside my comfort zone" or because i feel like i might have a hard time "adapting". Thats not true, I simply dont like it. Im not afriad of playing it.

Standardization in field size would be desireable but does it really matter as long as everyone is having fun.

I go to tournaments to win. Or try...haha. But thats whats fun to me.

Your right, and it would seem that no one shares my thoughts. SO CONSIDER THE MATTER DROPPED.

The size of the field is always 100x150 at all EPL events.
I have talked to a few players who have actully played on the field designed for the DMC and they liked it. I hope that everyone will give it a chance. We are attempting to thing outside the box (a little).
Consistancy is very important to our league, however that does not mean that every field must have a snake or dorito side. It does mean however that we play on the same sized fields with the same bunker shapes. And let's not forget that we grid the fields to offer even more consistancy.
I knew going into thos layout release that we would more than likely tick off the snake players, however we also understand that not every team has a snake player and that snake players can also play other positions and be just as effective on the field of play.
This is the layout that we are going to use at the DMC. I look forward to watching the the league play at the event. See you there.
Chad
