And I think that is the better method for customers and companies. The price of your used gun isn't guaranteed to drastically drop every year. I also find it amusing that people will pay more for dm13s at this point instead of saving hundreds by keeping their dm12s or buying one of the brand new dm12s still out there.

Eclipse is no golden angel. lol. Their move to stick with the 11 may somewhat be based in the fact that they don't want to release things without major revisions, but do you realize how much it is saving them in tooling, design costs, labeling, marketing, all the accessories to stick to a non yearly release? If anything not updating the models at all but sticking to the same or close to the same price is more of a rip off. Now before you start yelling fanboyism I don't even play paintball anymore.

Some how you turned a positive into a negative. I don't even own an electric paintball marker but I thought it was admirable for them not to release a marker with just minimal updates. They didn't try to rip their fanbase off. Somehow you made that a negative.

So you think DYE is spending that much cash on the DM13 for tooling, design, labeling etc etc just to please it's customers?
All about the cash. Bringing out a ,,new'' marker every year delivers more profit than sticking with the same marker.

Sometimes there is more than one view to anything, and sometimes multiple views are right. It depends on motive, what the consumer wants, etc... I won't say they did it with the intention of being cheap but you have to look at all aspects of the manufacturing and design process, not just just the finished product and cost.

Oh really? Do you have company financials to prove it? Profit isn't always about the amount made, it's also about percentages. and by not revising and retooling the percentage of the price of each gun sold that is profit goes up. All I see is a bunch of uneducated hate mongering highschool kids who know nothing about business or how to look at things any way but they way they hear first.

The funny thing is that the ego has been relatively unchanged other than size and weight since its inception. sure they added features but people never like to point out that dye also has added features. I would say other than the ego having a board with a screen the dm and ego have each had about the same amount of improvement and innovation since each of their inceptions.
Yes I did just ****ing triple post

Can someone point out the EXACT differences between the DM12 and the DM13? It seems marginal...

Kind of like the differences from the 05 to 06 ego? 07 to say what 11 ego? Smaller size, minor added features, increase in efficiency, softer shot....

Yea the removal of the qev and the whole change in the way the Solonoid works but all the other parts are similar and just a smaller tighter design. So I think you are semi right when u say DM's and egos changed at around the same pace. PE just does a good job at hiding things. Ie the regs. Since the ego 7 to now there's been little change to the regs but they always focus on one thing and people run with it. DYe just let's the product speak for itself.

Is this smaller than the 12?
What added features?
What is providing the increase in efficiency or softer shot?

I agree. Calling it now, used dm13s in January going for 925-950 or lower.

Milling, nothing more. Internals are exactly the same. So not more pods out of your fill, not smoother, not softer, not lighter. Maybe even a minor increase in weight because of the less cutouts.

Correct!
Got a 12(stores) and 13(mine) here at the shop. same bolt, and both weigh in at 2lbs on a fishing scale.
The tan/red combo is Sexy though

And that's worse than just selling the exact same gun?

Paintball News Rules |
- No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
- Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
- If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
- Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
