Does your board have the 2008 rate of fire update on it?
If not, then yes, it is worth getting the update, as this allows your board to adjust down to 10bps, making it suitable for 2009 PSP use.
Having said that, if your board had the rate of fire patch applied, I would have expected the firmware to have been updated as well.
Check the features of both firmware versions and see if there is anything you can't live without. If your current board has the modes and features that you need, you may not think the upgrade worthwhile.
