NO. the 08 slg uses a much larger pancake noid vs the 09-10 smaller pancake noid.

hmm...I checked around to several different websites and all I could find was the solenoid for the 09 SLG. Might just have to get ahold of Dye and see about getting the part from them.

Sorry man I tried to help ya out, no luck.

http://www.compulsivepaintball.com/1...olenoid-Pre-09

Contact this company first to double check. it says "pre-09" but that picture makes it look like its the smaller one, but that could just be a stock photo.

just contact them to make sure its the right one first

I'd suggest you dump the slg and get a pmr or pm. The slg really isn't worth spending money on esp for an expensive part like a solenoid.

i already have a pmr, dangerous power g3 and 9 other markers. the slg is basically brand new so i figured if i could get it fixed for $20-$30 it would be worth it. i mean theres not a scratch on it.

when i try to call dye, i get a pre-recorded message saying they are closed for some holiday.

i really appreciate all the help guys.

A working slg is only worth about $100-125 for an 08. $25 plus shipping puts you at $30 or more. Having owned 4 slg's in the past, can't say I'd ever go back. Reliability was one of the biggest problems.

I must be one of the lucky ones. I bought a used 08 SLG on ebay a few months ago, replaced all the o-rings, and serviced the reg and put two cases of paint through it. Took it apart after each case to lube. This gun is amazing. Its so simple to fix and maintain and shoots really really well. I can't see any issues with this gun. I'm planning on buying a back up solenoid just in case. How long do solenoids normally last?

The one SLG that I had worked perfectly. One had milling issues where the bolt chamber was too small and the bolt would get stuck frequently. That one got sent back to Dye and they milled out the breach and it worked fine afterwards until I sold it. The third had the full auto issue that wouldn't stop no matter what I tried. That one went back to Dye where they worked on the Hyper 3 and got it to work. The fourth one, I can't even remember any more.

Overall, my issues with the marker is the way it's built. The way the sear trigger is made, it certainly raises concern about long term durability. The other issue is how power hungry the SLG is. I would have to change the battery every 1-2 times I played. Now with the PM8 and PM7, I haven't changed my battery in months. Then before they came out with the new front bumper, the marker used to really shred the black front bumpers and Dye wanted a more than a couple of bucks for a replacement.

This is why I personally don't see the point in putting much money into fixing and maintaining a SLG. Whatever money you put in, you'll never get out of the marker when it comes time to sell it. If you're planning to keep it forever and personally use it, then by all means, make the investment. I personally think that if you have $125-$150 to spent on a marker, an older Dye DM4-DM5 or a used PM7 are much more reliable and worth the money over a SLG. I have a feeling Dye didn't make much money on the SLG given all the problems and markers they had to fix.
