This one started off as a first gen PGP that had seen better days for sure. The feed tube was mashed, the valve was completely full of what appeared to be blue loctite and the hammer's portion of the bottom tube had been distended way out of shape by a bad mounting of a back bottle donkey.
It had a vertical adapter and back bottle plumbed to a tapped daisy 12gram.....not good.
After the automation was taken care of and proved I added the centerfeed, cocker style ball detent and a little hotrod flavor. The sides were built up with brass tube quarters and then bondo'd. Once several layers of fill and blend primer were sprayed, sanded, proof sprayed, resanded, sworn at, sprayed and sanded again, it was sprayed with silver basecoat and baked at 160F for 24 hours to harden it up.
When the basecoat was ready I laid the metalic blue graphics vynil flames on the gun and tank (note: the tank wasn't baked for safety reasons) and finished everything with three coats of acrylic clearcoat.
I chose the blue pneus from spares that I had on hand and they look pretty good. The valve and hammer got the usuall 'Hotting Up' and a PPS style grip frame was made to suit.
The Highlight of the build for me though is the backblock setup. It's designed to take a custom turned delrin bolt with a centralized pull pin. It's pretty damned cool to see that backblock whangin' back and forth when you're realy laying into it.
