Membrane Pad Walkthrough

Step One

On each side of the stock power button, solder on a positive and negative lead. Note that the side closest to the bottom is negative and the positive is more towards the body

Next, install your banjo fittings/ qev as normal to the body and position your wires to run down the back of your solenoid.

Now Slide the board down the grip frame making sure the wires dont get pinched and stay in position.

Here is what it will look like settled in all nice and snug

Next attatch your membrane making sure to clean the surface where you want to mount it with rubbing alcohol to ensure a great adhesion. Wrap the exposed clear plastic with electrical tape so its not as vulnerable to damage

Next attach your choice of connector into the membrane ribbon top closest to the DYE is positive

Next close the right side of the grip pannel

Now is the hard part, situate all the wires so it will close properly

Close the other side and enjoy

I got a similar connector for mine but i couldnt get it to fit inside the grip frame. I am still looking for a way to make it all fit.

Is it possible to get a couple of photos as to where you placed your connection?

Re: Membrane Pad Walkthrough

Nevermind the naysayers, Jesse. It's an excellent walk thru. It's very helpful and GENEROUS to give your time and share this information. There's some people who will never be happy with any amount of effort. Best to let them wallow in their sheltered depressed existence.

Now, on to my question...

This is the part that gets me confused. Exactly what part do you solder the wires to? From this image, it appears that the wires are soldered to the board, but also to the rectangular metal thing that has "4114C" stamped on it. Doesn't this casing make an electrical bridge between the positive and negative wires? Is there something I'm missing?

No its just add on switch to the existing switch on the ion Broad nothing more, and if you see the circuit on the other side u will see that the ion switch is solder to two point on the broad that lead to the rest of the electrical circuit, and also it dosnt matter how u wire it to the Membrane its still going to turn the unit on.

^^^ thats correct, you will see two points where it is soldered on the board and I just heated those spots up and placed the wires there so they would solder in the same spots. Its actually on the board, but you can tack them to the side of the button if you wish
