Make sure you don't short stroke it, you have to make a full pull through the trigger before releasing or else you will not allow it to cycle properly.
technically if its functioning it should cock itself on the first trigger pull
so being that you have to physically cock it, you can already tell right there that its a timing problem/ leak
unless you physically cock the gun before airing it up, it will leak down the barrel. or you can air it up, and then pull the trigger and unless theres a MAJOR timing problem it should recock.
same difference.
but this should be asked in the mech cockers section. the cocker sections are the most helpful on this site, trust me. if somethings wrong with your gun, we can get you fixed up in no time.
It should cock itself when you air it up. You dont have to manually cock it..
No, you should cock it manualy before airing it up or it will leak down the barrel because the hammer is resting on the valve, after that it will cock itself during the firing cycle

Just cause its new doesn't mean it works.
a pump that cocks itself??? without any help from the pump stroke??? anyway Autocockers will cock themselves, hence the name, but only during the firing cycle...shoot,cock,load. the first shot still has to be cocked by hand before airing or it may leak

I had this problem once when I decided to try my hand at "sweet spotting". Anyway if it sounds like the air is coming from your BReach (out of your bolt) then it would probably be the same problem I had. I turned the pressure from my inline reg too low. There was not enough force in front of the valve to close it (weird that the spring doesn't have enough umph) so the air would just go around the cap and up through the breach. So just turn that inline reg of yours up some and the pressure will push the valve close.
Autocockers are "finiky" so you'll probably run into alot of similar problems with set-up. It's usually due to insufficient or too much pressure somewhere. If you have the confidence, take it apart with a manual or vid next to you to get a better idea of how everything interacts then you'll be able to figure out problems later on. Since it's mechanical, you probably have all the tools and know-how to do it yourself all the time.
To the OP - Just because someone told you it was timed correctly doesnt mean it really was, they might be retarded.
to everyone else - Some cockers will cock as you gas-up, and some wont.....not all cockers are built the same. My girlfriend and I have autocockers and she has to manualy cock hers but I dont......Pre-2ks are most likely to have this issue.
