Always remember, there is a right way, and then there is a wrong way. For example.
Right Way- Eye cover screw becomes stripped, attempt to use allen keys and glue to remove, or use drill to remove head, then use pliers to un screw the rest.
Wrong way- use wire cutters to slowly cut the eye cover in half, pulling each half off, and then unscrewing screw.
No real damage done, just some small scratches around where the eye cover goes. Damn my patience, anyone know a good anodizer?

Now let's see what happens when you're driving with the "other guy's" brake pads. You're drivin' along, you're drivin' along, the kids start shouting from the back seat, "I gotta go to the bathroom, Daddy!" "Not now, damn it!" Truck tire. EEEEEEEE! I CAN'T STOP! There's a cliff! AAAAAHH! And your family's screaming"Oh my God, we're burning alive!" "No! I can't feel my legs!" Here comes the meat wagon.
And the medic gets out and says, "Oh my God". New guy's around the corner puking his guts out. All because you want to save a couple extra pennies.
Bad luck is one thing... but willing destruction is another in my book.
Necessary evil, the screw was completely rounded, whoever worked on it before me is a real FUTZ... But kila detents and a new eye pipe on the way, amongst other things. Eventually I'm gonna get this thing to be absolutely perfect. I might use something to smooth out all the scratches and rough spots then send it out to get anno'd.

Yeah, but that's so stress free, and what fun is that? >.>
But really, I wish they had a better system for holding the eye covers on, maybe a cam lock screw.

It worked well but some owners just over tighten then strip the screw tip. Magnets? Seen luxe owner losing their eye covers when get shot there. I have seen people who drilled the holes bigger to fit different screws or ghetto style using tapes to wrap around it and don't use screws.
The new Luxes and Impulses actually have hinges now along with the magents on the Luxe to keep the covers on.
I think a hinged snap lock or a simple 1 turn cam lock screw would be awesome.

If you're the type that likes to hack things off, using wire cutters is the wrong way to go as far as precision. Invest in a dremel tool.
Still, hacking things off in the paintball tech world is 99.9% of the time the wrong way to do things.

As I've so eloquently pointed out.
I'm still used to working on cockers, these new age guns are all new to me. Cockers are easy, everything is on the outside and there aren't any really small pieces. But I didn't do much harm, and I got no plans to sell the gun. I have some kila detents on the way along with the new eye pipe, that'll get the gun working, a new ASA and feedneck cause the CP ones I have are TERRIBLE. Eventually I want a Tadao or Virtue USB OLED board.

Chock it up to experience man. I never would have learned many of the things that I now know without doing, and screwing it up more before fixing it, myself
