Alright so i have a 06 silverado, and recently the map light wetn out.The light you press when your trying to read directions and all that stuff. I dont use it much, but when i open the door only the passenger light turns on, and it just looks ****ty. Well i took it to the dealership, and he said it just needed a new 194 LED. I asked if they can do it, and they said sure, for 40 bucks (Labor). I said screw that, and i just looked on ebay and the lights are 2.00 shipped. So my question is, how hard are these to install. I already have the plactic piece off, but how does the LED come out? and what do you do to put it in? Im hoping its just plug and play, but if it comes to soldering, and all that stuff im screwed.
its a bulb, it snaps into a socket, and 194s are only a few bucks in a store if you didn't want to wait for them to be shipped

It looks like you just plug it in, but thats what i thought with my 3rd brake light. Ended up having to soldering the damn thing.

The bulbs in the third brake light are the same thing, but require you to take the cover off, pop the bracket out, then turn the dead bulb and it pops right out. atleast it was like that on both an 03 and 06 sierra..
