I heard the flatline system is rather finicky with paint selection. What do you guys use for optimal performance and what is the bore size? I read in another thread that 275-285 fps is ideal. Any other tricks that you flatliners have figured out?
Also, I just got my first tippmann ever, its an A5 with a flatline. I never owned one so I just want some opinions that you guys have about the flatline.

There really isn't much to the flatline in terms of advice. There are three things that you should pay attention to though:
1) Hold the gun straight up and down when firing the marker so the ball doesn't curve weird
2) Keep the velocity at about 270-280 fps
3) Don't use very brittle paint. You will make a mess. Use paint that is a little harder but not to hard.

Top notch advice here. Wish someone had told me about #1. But if you practice with the "weird curve" you can get some nifty results.
I tried to keep my velocity at 265-270. That is where I had the best results. I used alot of Karnage Tear and bite, had 2-3 barrel breaks per case at those velocities vs 280 with 2-3 breaks per hopper.
Marbelizers are very Flatline friendly.
And run warm (not hot) water though it to help clean it, dry it out and let it air cool.
i just got the flatline and was shooting some type of small paint in it but it didnt have a name and it shot pretty good. i heard that marbilizer was good alot for them and i have mine around 280 and it shoots fine
I read that you should boil the barrel to remove paint, I dont know how legit that is, but to me boiling it sounds like a possible no no...
DO NOT Boil the flatline. It could warp.
I use warm tap water to clean mine. Somtimes hot tap water. Squeegy; Then dry it out and let it air cool. Dont try to cool it with cold water.

Marbilizer is a very nice paint. Very flatline friendly. Its friendly with just about every marker. (or so I have been told)
