So I tried anodizing, way to much time, way to much work, way to many variables to getting it JUST right and if you dont, you can easily trash the piece. However, I have a powder coater, and I have 'candy' colors..
Piece #1 Spyder Victor, Flat black with solid red

Piece #2 Spyder Fenix, Flamboyant blue over silver (the black marks are tape, it is silver under those)

Piece #3 99 Autococker, Lollipop Purple fades to Psycho Lime with Psycho Lime accents. Fades in candy coat SUCK. Because the colors are transparent when cooked, anything under them shows through. I will probably just strip this one and do the body in purple and leave the accents in lime.

Whatdaya think?

I'm not too sure about the victor...but the Fenix is probably one of the best looking powder coat I've ever seen on a PB marker. Props.

yeah the blue over silver candy is sexy, kind of a glittery appearance.

Thanks guys! I can do solid colors very well, but that fade just kicked me in the butt.. Trying to get the colors to blend was just too much of a head ache.
The Victor was just an exercise in technique for my friend. He had never done any powdercoating before so we picked up some cheap stuff so he could try his hand at it. The flamboyant blue is a 'must see in person' color. It is very prismatic, and it will change shades of blue depending on what light is hitting it. It is a very 'pop' color.

doesnt look like you blasted the bodies.

did you strip them?

Same prep work was done as if it were to be anodized. All old ano was stripped, then the parts were thoroughly cleaned and polished. Depending on the desired final color, they were left bare or given a silver 'base' layer (such as the blue gun).
Honestly on some of the candy colors, you would be VERY hard pressed to tell the difference between powder and anodizing..

Powdercoating looks always off to me in pictures, but things seem to be alot better

Thanks, I shot both colors at the same time so they melted together. The front needs to be just a hair darker to be the 'psycho lime' to match the rest of the parts.

I really liked that 1st pic of the marble coat... would it have been possible to leave it at that point, or was it only partially coated? The green is nice too.
