EDIT: In my opinion this does not fall under the relm of a VS thread. It is asking what people like better now which one is better. So please, people, stop reporting it! It is skating a thin line between not being a VS and being a VS, but I would have closed it by now if I felt it did fall under the VS rule - gremlin
whenever someones taken out by a dm an angel get his wings so a dm lol

Now let's see what happens when you're driving with the "other guy's" brake pads. You're drivin' along, you're drivin' along, the kids start shouting from the back seat, "I gotta go to the bathroom, Daddy!" "Not now, damn it!" Truck tire. EEEEEEEE! I CAN'T STOP! There's a cliff! AAAAAHH! And your family's screaming"Oh my God, we're burning alive!" "No! I can't feel my legs!" Here comes the meat wagon.
And the medic gets out and says, "Oh my God". New guy's around the corner puking his guts out. All because you want to save a couple extra pennies.
DM7. I like PM's, but right now you can get a DM7 cheap, and they look better in my opinion than ANY PM, and the PM7 doesn't come stock with a UL frame. The DM8 in my opinion is just a more expensive version of the DM7, no real improvement made, and it's not as nice looking I think.

Ok Check it out I have an NT, DM8-Tado, DM7-Hater, DM6-Vittue, PM7-Virtue, A1, Ego-07-Virtue, Autococker Pump
I think by far the NT is the nicest and could be the best if I could just get it to stop chopping every now and again.
I think I like the PM7 with the ultralite grip then the DM8 then the DM7 the Ego the DM6 the Autococker and then the stupid A1 it never seams to work a full day.
To be completely honest, out of those I am a fan of the pm8. For some reason all of the ones I've used shot amazingly smooth and quiet. Value wise, you can't go wrong with either the pm8 or dm7. The dm8 is also nice, but isn't much of an upgrade from the dm7, and for what you can get one for these days, you might as well go for it.
They're all the same damn thing. Same bolt system, same regs, same wobbly side play triggers (critical ftw). Set any of these up right and you've got a quiet, smooth shooting marker. Personal pref -
And since you're polling - I'd say DM8. I like how they look.
Although it's two less fiddly screws to deal with, and less parts besides (covers and springs as well as screws), I actually like having external access to the eyes, so for me, it would be between the DM7 and PM8. Money at the time dictated a PM8, so that is what I have - with a few upgrades (UL barrel backs, lever clamping feed neck and Yakuza USB board - not that the stock board is bad mind) I'm very happy. Still need to drop in a Critical trigger, but you never see them in the UK..... other than in my markers.
dm7 over the pm8 def because correct me if im wrong the dm7 runs at a lower operating pressure than the pm8 thus creating a smoother and quieter shot....DM7 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!

besides the Ollie Lang IM9, a upgraded DM7 is my absolute favorite DM. By upgraded I mean flow plug and critical trigger.
Personally I feel the Proto line is a budget version of Dye line, in the same way that Toyota and Lexus are at the basis similar, but in reality are quite different. Proto's are simply not designed to preform on the level as the DM because of price constrants (Dye trying to get the markers in people's hands for a lower price). Yes, Proto's Matrix line is full of great markers, but they were never really designed to compete against each other, only to complement.
dm7 in my opinion was the best dm ever made out of dye or proto, everything went flat after that (with the exception of the NT we'll see how it does later)
well think of it this way dm brand new=what like $900? Pm8= 425 ul frame = 125-200 which makes the pms more cost effective but the dm You can say is more tournament ready and a one stop shop for your gun
Idk, performance wise it's hard for me to differentiate. I can't say any DM I shot has been any more efficiency, fast, or accurate than any PM. I've owned and shot both. I loved my PM6's especially, even in stock trim I thought they were excellent.

Agree. When holding side by side the difference is noticable but once you set it up with bottle and loader full u can't really tell the difference. And both would shoot great if you tune them well and look after them.
