Bought an EGO 10. Here's my comparison to the IM9

Here's my comparison/review of the EGO 10 vs. IM9.

- Definitely smoother shooting vs. my old SL74. Less kick and noise.
- The way it fits in my hands is way better than my old SL74. I can actually wrap my whole hand around the HPR.
- Love the big screen. You can adjust it to display practically any color. I have mine set to amber. Just set the red to 100 and the green to 20 or 30 to get the same effect.
- Trigger was a little too stiff for me, so I took out the spring and adjusted the magnet return. Now its super light but I had to adjust the debounce to compensate for bounce. Wish it had the "reach" function of my IM9 trigger.
- Definitely like the upgrades. Can't wait to see what Jack has in store for inserts on the Cure 3 plus.
- Can't comment on its efficiency or consistency yet. Still have to put a few more cases through it. Consistency out of the box was +/- 20fps but its due to the paint I'm using. The paint was not consistent at all. I would expect this gun to do at least +/- 10fps with good paint.

Compared to my DM9 Ironmen (IM9) Ollie Lang:

- DM9 shoots way smoother. DM9 has less kick and less noise.
- Ergonomics not as good as the EGO.
- Trigger is much lighter on my IM9 since I took out the spring, but the IM9 trigger has a lot of sideplay. If I could get the best features of the IM9 and EGO 10 trigger together, that'd be the ultimate trigger.

Bottom-line, which one would I pick...IM9.
I love EGO's but my IM9 shoots so smooth. Speed is irrelevant since both markers shoot really fast.

Anyhow, here's the pics:

lol no you don't. I guess I'm a spoolie guy now. I used to think EGO's were the best shooting guns.

I always need a primary and backup marker. The EGO 10 will be my backup. I just like the fact that I know EGO's inside and out. I haven't messed with my IM9 much because it shoots so well. I don't want to mess with the settings until I really have to lol

Actually, I took the pics right in the middle of my living room floor. I used a flash and bounced it off the ceiling. I set the camera on Aperture and let the camera do most of the thinking for me. I use a Nikon D90 with an SB800 flash. Lens is the cheapo 18-105mm.

Have the Ironmen 9 as well. Can't get much better than it already is. Had similar comparison test with one of my friends. He's always been a die hard ego fan. When my IM9 came in and he got a chance to test it, guess what . . . The sucker listed his ego 9 same night and bought one for himself.

Only gripe is that I can't seem to find a Ironmen trigger for sale. Love the feel of it and would definately like to get one for my back up DM7.

I think a similar trigger to the ironmen is the critical trigger. Not sure if it implements the reach function, which I really like about the ironmen trigger.

The Ironman trigger, in both weight and feel, is similar to the Violent Products trigger whereas the Critical Trigger is similar an Ego 8-10 trigger.

ive always thought of dm erganomics as the best compared to egos. to me egos seemed to squished together, while dm's the front reg is alittle space out more, and the ul frame.

but then again ive never shot a ego9 or greater with the enlarged trigger frame.
