What Kind Of Support Is this!

I am ridiculously Furious! I spend a big wad of cash that I saved up for 3 months on a BNIB Dm9 I would like to add emphasis on BRAND NEW IN BOX! I run this bad boy home and open it up like a little kid at Christmas just to figure out that its broken! The damn eyes dont work! When I spent that 1300$ on a gun I expected to have a working gun that would perform above what I expected. But no I get this useless Pound of Metal. May I also add that the damn Tension adjustment screw is stripped and Will not move so adjusting the trigger really isn't an option. So I call DYE first about the Spring tension. Takes me at least 25 minutes to even get a hold of a gun technician but instead I get some guy telling me that in order to un strip it I got to turn it, oh so since I cant turn it I got to turn it to fix it, makes perfect sense why didn't I think of that! I hang up pretty pissed. Next day I phone Dye up again, I must of missed them by a few minutes after hours so I leave a message stating my name my phone number and the problem. Dont say I didnt say my phone number incorrectly I said it twice. I never got a call back the next day or the two days later. I left a few messages after that. Finally one day I get to talk to someone. I ask for a gun tech and the lady says they are on brake call back in 5 minutes. So I did still on brake, 20 minutes still on brake, 30 minutes still on brake, 40 minutes Oh Its about time. I then asked the guy My eyes are broken I heard you can send me a new pair. He said yes definitely. So I gave him all my info and he said okay it will arrive in 7-8 business days. I waited 3 WEEKS, still no damn eyes. So TODAY I called and left a message cause the girl was busy. To my surprise I actually got a call back! Imagine that! I told her straight up I got told you guys shipped me a pair of eyes and 7-8 business days it has been 3 weeks and thanks to you guys I had to borrow a gun off of someone for a tournament. She said Okay I will look, she asked my name number, address and stuff. And told me I was not in the SYSTEM! I waited 3 weeks and you guys didn't even ship them! Didn't even know you had to!!!!! She claims to have put me in the system and to make sure they will be shipped. I asked for an ETA, 10 business days. THANKS GUYS! Looks like I am borrowing a gun again! Absolutely RIDICULOUS. When spending 1300$ on a gun I expect good customer service. Hell who knows If I will even get the eyes knowing you guys you sent me some De-tents or something.

If I ever do get these new eyes! I am sure to sell this gun and take my business elsewhere!

Thanks Dye your the best! :/

Man, it's been forever since i bought a bnib gun. I run into less problems with used ones, ironically.

Where did you buy it from? Straight from Dye? Online shop? Local store?

ya i had this problem with bob long when i got my alias...the board was bad an so i called them talk to five different people an then finally told to call back later. I end up shipping them my gun..on my tab to them an they send it back claiming nothing is wrong an that i need to sue new batteries...well sorry folks iver been playing,at this point, for 5 years im sorry i didnt think of that..so i try a new battery nothing..call them back an i was told it had a bad board an it was written on the file it needed but it never got one...needless to say i was unhappy so i went a bought a virtue board...screw even the idea i would wait on them any longer..this was over about a three month period so almost my whole summer was gona an i didnt get to use it...

If you don't get what you're looking for please feel free to PM me directly. We recently lost 2 gun techs and the person that helped you may have picked up and left the day they told you they would send those out. Obviously this is no excuse for the service you received. So please, if you don't get what you're looking for, or want a status on the shipment of your eyes, please PM me.

Thank you,

Surprised your store did not help you since it sounds like a DOA product that should have been swapped.

My team mate had a problem with his fm Asa at time of purchase and the store owner/tech fixed it straight away.... Even when he had his SLG that had issues also were tried to be fixed an at the end got a new one replaced because it was just crap.

Maybe Im just spoilt and have a local store that always look after their customers.

Yeah well unfortunately paintball in my town sucks, its a small field and owner does not have proshop or anything just orders a gun or two. This is really disappointing.

Once you get to know your dm it will be farely easy to trouble shoot. Just will be an extra step if you need to get parts.

Suggest that u also get some orings just in case so you won't be held ip if it goes down due to normal wear and tears.

to b honest. it sounds like u should sell the 9 to a person who will appreciate the awesomeness that is the dm9. and go back to that ego clack clack thing.. that u dont ever have to work on. but still kicks like ur shooting a 50caliber sniper rifle.

in life. and especially business no one is perfect. their is always someone. or somethings that will slip threw the cracks. it happens. it sucks but it does. theirs 1000000X more ppl who dye has been spot on. and helped tremendously vs the few ppl who has not had a great exp with them.

and about the eyes and screw.. its just like a car that comes off the manufacture line with a small problem here or their.. if u make a few hundred thousand or a million of 1 product. their is sure to b that small percent that has something wrong with it.. again it happens. and im sure dye will for sure help you out. as long as your not a rude dick head to them.

If it were me, I would just take out the spring, and forget the tension spring adjustment screw. I took out the spring a long time ago... and a lot of people don't use the spring to lighten the trigger. This could be a temporary fix till Dye sends you a new adjustment screw. As for the eyes, when you turn the gun, does it boot to green? ....or does it blink red? If it boots to green, then it could be damaged eyes. If it blinking red, then your board is mounted to close to the button, which will turn the eyes off when you turn the gun on. If it does this... just loosen the board mounting screws, and move the board away from the buttons. Then tighten the board mounting screws down.

$1300 on a BNIB DM9? Why didn't you just buy a DM10?

Not to discredit the effort made but, after reading about your experience with Dye's customer service I expected the manufacture rep to PM you directly, not come into your thread and ask you to PM him.

And like erayser said, try taking out the spring and forget about the tension spring adjustment screw, the stock triggers feels a lot better without it IMO.

I took the spring out feels allot nicer. But it would be nice to know the trigger spring tension could be adjusted.

If the tension was too hard I cut the springs on a mechanical pen or pencil to the same size as the stock spring and check for feel. If it's too stiff I clip a bit off and stretch the spring and keep doing that until I have the tension I want. I do that with my intimidators.

Yeah but main problem is the eyes.
Faulty eyes.

Now let's see what happens when you're driving with the "other guy's" brake pads. You're drivin' along, you're drivin' along, the kids start shouting from the back seat, "I gotta go to the bathroom, Daddy!" "Not now, damn it!" Truck tire. EEEEEEEE! I CAN'T STOP! There's a cliff! AAAAAHH! And your family's screaming"Oh my God, we're burning alive!" "No! I can't feel my legs!" Here comes the meat wagon.
And the medic gets out and says, "Oh my God". New guy's around the corner puking his guts out. All because you want to save a couple extra pennies.
