Okay I just called my local field they say they use 68 caliber paint-balls. So what would be the best barrel for me to get. At the moment I have a 14" Proto Barrel that was $30.00. It still curves the balls like crazy though, I belive that maby the bore size in the barrel is too big? So I plan on getting a Stiffi 14 - 16 inch barrel which one should I get. Also what bore size if my field usues 68 caliber paintballs.
If you're unsure, get a single barrel that'll accept a freak kit, and then buy a freak kit. That way you can match the insert that you slide into the barrel with your paintball (all current paintballs are .68 caliber, they differ in slightness from .679 to .689 range due to manufacturing). That'll help a lot.

Sound like your barrel is dirty or your paint is crap. The barrel doesn't have nearly as much of an effect as those two. Even a horrible barrel will shoot okay if it's clean and with good paint.

I'm not buying a freak kit, I'm just looking to buy a single piece barrel (Auto-cocker) that fits my gun. My Proto aluminum barrel just is not cutting it. So i'm going to get a stiffi barrel, I play speed ball so should I get 16" or 14" also what about the inner size of the barrel...My arena said 68 caliber so can i get a .688? would that be good

I've already answered your question about the inner size. You can't just "pick" one. Every brand/case of paintball will be slightly different. If you want one that'll cover pretty much everything, you can get a .689 and overbore, but hope that no smaller paint comes in, it'll throw things off a bit. Also, check to make sure the velocity is consistant, and clean the hell out of your barrel.
If they are curving way off, having an exact match barrel won't help at all, it doesn't make that much of a difference. I went from a slightly off bore'd barrel, hitting a grouping of about the size of a large dinner plate, to an exact match bore and went to a grouping the size of a small dinner plate. The difference is really negligible if you're a good player.
I prefer 14" only. 16" would be fine for back players, but the length isn't going to make that much difference, again.

Okay, But it is true if you compare a $100 stiffi barrel with .688 bore too a proto aluminum...also im more of a back/mid player so is there rlly a huge different in length from 14 - 16 or..also im getting new lazer eyes...and $80 proto slg bolt its called like a tech-t l7 bolt..... would that improve my accuracy

The bolt will not improve your accuracy at all. It will affect efficiency, acoustic dynamics, and recoil. The cheap proto barrel you keep harping on is probably just as good as the stiffi barrel. Spending $100 on a barrel will not a good paintball player make.
Laser eyes are also useless as hell for any performance reason. They are only good for cosmetics. Nothing you are looking at buying will affect accuracy to any degree that you will be able to tell a difference. The best thing that will help is to make sure your barrel is clean, your feedneck is clean, and your loader is clean. Use good, fresh paint. Make sure there are a minimal amount of dimples in the paint. Clean your marker regularly. Again, check the velocity and make sure it's not all over the place, that could be a cause for poor accuracy.
Paintballs curving all over the place though is usually a) bad paint, b) dirty barrel, c) bad player.

Should I clean my bolt ? I havent cleaned my bolt or inside of my gun for a while. MY barrel is clean, I've read so many reviews on action village how you see in the stiffi barrel increased accuracy...if I upgrade to a 16" over a 30 proto barrel i might see a improvment?
Barrel length will again, not affect accuracy. If you haven't cleaned your bolt in a while, it's good maintenance practice to do so every 10,000 shots or so. Take the bolt out, inspect all of the o-rings, replace any that are shredded or cracked, and apply a thin layer of lube to every moving part.
14" Barrels are just fine, nothing wrong with them.

I'm going to take it out now, How much lube ? Is there reall a "Certain amount" or just put it on my finger rub it on to wet it and put bolt back in... Also I've read over 100 reviews they said stiffi barrels are awesome.. I'd love to show you my barrel its pretty cheap..but i understand it wont change the gun much but wont a good barrel (stiffi) be lighter at least ? and what size barrel do you use ?

I use the stock 14" that came with my Rail, and the stock 14" that came with my NT.
If you really want a stiffi barrel, go for it. Everyone will always say a product does great. There's tons of people out there that think that upgrading something small will make a massive difference. Read up on the Placebo affect for more information on that.
That being said, a barrel CAN help with accuracy. Just very, very little.
Use a small amount of lube, there's no set amount, just small. Put a little quirt on the bolt, rub it in and around until theres a very thin coat. You shouldn't be able to see it at all, just feel it being slick/oily.

Get a new barrel if that's what you WANT to do. It won't hurt your accuracy or performance, it will probably be lighter, and you'll feel better (which is totally normal). You can get a "good" barrel for $40.
Barrel kits are great too if you shoot a lot of variable sized paint and most are decent quality. I like 12" and 14" barrels, which is pretty normal. 16" is long for speedball.
Thanks man. I just dont see why if i'm playing speed ball my balls are curving like I mean I understand they will always curve. I'm just looking for a little "less curving if you know what I mean" Considering that, is 16" too long for speed ball? Also tell me if this sounds good
Atm my set up is:
-Proto slg
-Untralight trigger
-clamping feed neck
-14" proto barrel
-empire reloader b i belive
i was thinking of getting...
virtue board, barrel, grips, eyes, and a dye rotor... would that be stupid or ?

Is there any like $100 barrel kits you can link me too or ?
You will never need your gun to do 30BPS. If you are in any decent field, they will cap you at 10.5 or 12.5 if you are doing ramping, or you semi unlimited but there's no way you can manhandle 30bps semi.
Don't worry about feed rate when looking for a loader, every loader will keep up with any marker on the market these days during normal play. Now, going out behind your moms house to unload at max speed, sure, the Rotor will keep up better, but not during normal circumstances. The rotor is just more durable for front play (sliding, dropping, etc), is easier to open and clean, and easier to clear a jam. Those are the only differences you will see.
With the freak kits, you have the front of the barrel, the back of the barrel, which you screw together. You then have little tubes of metal that you slide into the back end of the barrel to adjust bore size.
Chances are I don't think people will think you're a noobie because of a rotor on an SLG. An SLG is a fine marker, I've seen people play with them in tournaments and they work great. Other factors will label you as a noobie, though.

I hate that around Christmas every one gets ego's that there parents buy them. I've been paintballing for one year and dont find the need for a new marker yet. I'm at the age were I can get a job now...and Paintballing is really starting to "click" something about it, being on the field..the addrelineee..i just love the sport...so I just feel I need a few upgrades.. Dye roto from a empire reloader b sound good guys ?

Don't get upgrades just because you feel the need to get upgrades. Sit back, take a good long look at what you actually want in a paintball marker. What about your gun don't you like now, and go from there. If you are going to end up dropping so much in upgrades, you may be better off looking at a new marker.
The 09/2010 Proto Rail is a great upgrade from the SLG. Smoother, the action is quieter and doesn't recoil as much, the shots are more consistent, and you can net a new 09 for around $350-400. I absolutely love my 2010 Rail, it's done me well, has taken a beating and kept on going. Is it the best marker on the market? No, but it's an amazing piece of machinery for it's cost.
To me, and no offense meant, it looks like you've surfed this board quite a bit and seen all the upgrades everyone else lists on their stuff, and figured why not go with what they do. A lot of people just shove upgrades into a marker that are not needed, simply to up their "agg" factor and try to be the cool kid on the block.
You don't need a virtue board, a new barrel, new grips, eyes, etc. A bolt would be a decent upgrade to help with the performance of the marker, and the loader will not make you a better player. Learn your marker and learn it well, then decide based on how you mesh with it what you need to change yourself, not just because people on a message board or review site say you need it.

Honestly thats not what I do. The only problem I have is like the gun lagging sometimes, when I rock the trigger I have too sometimes shake the gun.. Because of the hopper not feeding ..... I'm not trying to "throw" upgrades..but I like my slg, and want to keep it..so why not customize to my liking.. grips are like 30.. eyes are like 30... bolt is like 75....then barrel or rotor im deciding on...
