I race in a micro-sprint sportsman class. We run a Honda 250 4-stroke, though a lot of others run a 125 2-stroke (they lose). The exhaust has a custom made silencer on it, since we can only be 100dB max. We've changed & refined it since these pictures.
Been doing this for about 5-6 years. I ran 6 years of karts before moving up to the micro-sprints. I won the championship back in 2006, and since then we haven't been going as consistently - it's nice to have some Saturdays off. But when I do go, we usually tear it up and wind up in the top 3.
Circle dirt tracks? We had one of those at my old high school. I did shotput for school though so I couldn't really use it. But at night, we'd sneak into our school with our bikes and race the track, and like slide around the turns. It was badass. /srs

I help my buddy on his late model at the local dirt oval. It doesn't do all that great, but when he was running modified stock he was consistently in the top 5. Finished 2nd and 4th in consecutive years.
We've got like 5 tracks within 20 miles of each other.

Its been a family tradition for them for years. They have sponsors that have been helping their family since day one. Each car was hand built and they took quite a while. Fantastic experience building these cars though.
Local Short track racing is alot of fun..... Especially when your doing it with family and friends... I made the mistake of making it my everyday job....
i raced outlaw pony for 2 years this year im running 2bbl late model.
