I am doing this off an iTouch but will edit and post pictures of everything later. Not sure which thread to put this in nut I picked here.
Cale Paschen was my best friend and a teammate for a small 3 man team that Played locally. I remember playing in my first tourney ever with him and recall he got me hooked on this sport. My 7th grade year in school he brought a copy of Action Pursuit Games. On the cover were pics from OK DDay. He let me barrow the magazine and I wanted to play ever since then. On here, he was paschen128. He bought an etek 2 off here and loved it. I have a vid I will post later of all of us playing reball and didn't realize until then how badly that is.
On June 22nd of this year he was going home for a doctors appointment. He stopped on one side of an intersection next to state road 18 and talked to a friend at school. He pulled forward to cross and realized he was right in front of a dump truck. He floored his Acura bt hit gravel, which made his tires spin, and the truck hit the passenger side of his car at 60mph. His car flipped twice and went through a guard rail into a ditch. Cale was sandwhiched behind the back seat and the cieling. One of my buddies (the one he was talking to) jumped out of his truck to help. Cale was conscience and gave him his cell to call his parents. Cale looked like he was fine when the EMTs came and when the chopper came to take him to Indy he started to lose his now hour long battle. He died in the back of the ambulance that day.
When the cops were investigating his car they found his black and lime green etek2 in the front passenger seat. He said he wanted it to be with him all the time. The feedneck is bent but it still works. His other gear was in the car to but was destroyed.
I carried my best friends casket a week later at his funeral, and they also played footage I took on a day at Fort Knox paintball. His gun and jerseys were on display as well as the last picture taken of him by me. He was holding a Droid one of the Purdue paintballers had.
A few of us a couple months earlier at school talked about dying. Cale said he wanted all of his online friends to know( he played xbox alot as well as WoW). In the sport of paintball we are all friends. Even if I have never met you, you are my friend. He lived for this sport just like I do. And we buried him with his SLG he had bought a couple weeks earlier. Cale "Benji" Paschen was my best friend and my brother on the field. He will never be forgoten by anyone who has ever met him.
So I am just helping my buddy out buy posting this. I will be posting video and pictures soon. Thank you.
thank you very much. his little sister has taken up paintball more avidly (she played but now she is playing alot) and his mom is helping host a yearly tournament in the area.

Well, this teaches us all a lesson. When they tell you to look both ways before crossing the intersection, seriously, do it. As far as I can tell, it was your friends fault. If the garbage truck was going that fast, it means he had right of way and it was your friends lack of attention that got him stuck in a dangerous intersection. While it is all very sad, as long as we can learn from his mistake, then that's all that matters.
