backyard play air/co2 question

i am planning to play with pump paintball guns in my backyard.

i have the option to use 12 gram co2s but they get expensive. i aslo have a 3.5 oz and 20 oz co2 can. is there anyway i can fill up the 20 oz co2 can then transfer the co2 from that can to the 3.5 oz can.

how do other pump players deal with air/co2 issues when playing at home.

i feel like it could be very dangerous to do that, but at the same time the i could be wrong and it could work without any problems.

I get a fill at the field and play on that the whole time. But I have a 45/45 tank.

The way Tyler said it is the best, just learn how to fill a CO2 tank. Ask your local field owner to show you how.

you can do it if you like but here are a few tips.

First you need a c02 hanging scale to see how much you put in. never really fill to 3.5 always fill under because gas will expand and depends on heat but it can expand alot so always leave some room to play with.

second get a fill station from any where aslong as its for this use. you need a way to vent air thats left in the line so you dont what i call cold burn(the cold gas that burns the heck out of ya)so wear gloves to help this.

If you really wanna fill your self go out and buy a big sucba tank and get all the things scale, fill station with a gauge on the tank and that way all you have to do is fill the big tank once a month. depends on use and they fill should run around 80 or so bucks so maybe you can charge people like 2 bucks a fill to make extra cash.

In short you "CAN" do it with the twenty but it woudnt be cheaper because you would have to buy all the stuff. so just get them both filled or buy a big tank to fill them all.

I'am a head ref and do this all the time if you have any questions just pm me.

I lease 3 @ 70lb tanks from the local welding gas supplier. This runs around $120/yr

When the tanks run low, the same place swaps out fresh ones - around $20/tank.

simple math :

for my kid and I : 10 events per year x 2 players x $10/event air = $200 I don't have to pay.. pays for it self in event air savings. the backyard ball usage is all gravy..
