Are there any cars released in the US with the steering wheel on the right side? I thought about it today and I havent noticed any.

One of my old mail drivers had a rhd Outback that she used for a dd and for work, I don't how she went about obtaining it whether it was imported or had a conversion done to it.

jeep has up until recently and i think still makes most of their models in short runs of rhd for post office use

S10s and jeeps have been released as RHD postal trucks for many years.

actually, now that i think of it.

my local police force uses RHD Jeep Wrangler TJ's for parking enforcement.

There's factory RHD SUV/wagons from Jeep, Subaru, GM, etc. They're for postal use but I bet you could walk into a dealer and order them.

I've only seen mail trucks and some police cars that had right side steering wheels. Don't think there is anything else

i recently saw a RHD jeep cherokee on craigslist for sale... so yes there are american cars made into RHD but for strictly business purposes.. not to be ub3r 1337 jdm.

RHD Jeeps, RHD Explorers, RHD Subaru Wagons(Early 90's only), LLV's(Chevrolet Mail Trucks) and FFV's(Ford Mail Trucks) are mostly all you'll find other than custom conversions and very limited batch RHD runs. My job is Contracted by the USPS so I generally get to work on Postal Vehicles every single day. The Chevrolet's are 2.2L and 2.5L S10 Motors with an Astro-Van Rear end and the Ford's are Basically a 4.0 SOHC Explorer Chassis with a huge box on top of it.

There is a small company down the road from me that buys used Cherokees and does RHD conversions for mail delivery.

I've always wondered if you can buy them brand new at a dealer. I mean, it'd be dumb considering the fact that it'd probably cost a lot more but I'm curious if they're only sold to the USPS/police departments.

I would assume if you could get em direct from the dealer they would be euro cars with US emissions equipment slapped on.

the USPS used outbacks in a lot of areas. they had the room for a lot of mail, they didn't burn a lot of gas and they could get around well, so they made a good postal vehicle.

there are a few still kicking around here.

saturn postal wagons, and you can import practically any car from japan for not as much as you'd think. and they just have tons of 2 year old cars that just dont pass emissions cause its so strict over there.
