de-badging my ford focus

my 94 escort crapped out of me last week. i bought a 05 zx3 focus as my new dd. i like the look of it, but id like to debadge the hatch. the emblems dont appear to be stamped into the hatch, just glued on or something. ive heard hot water and dental floss is a good way to get it off, but i wanted to ask.

heat it up with a hairdryer, soak it in goo-gone. Use fishing line and or a plastic razorblade to get it off.

You don't really need a hairdryer just floss or fishing line and goo gone or something similar.

dental floss or fishing string to get the emblems off. Goo gone to get rid of the residue left on the car. Wash everything off. Wax it and call it a day

I used a hair dryer to heat up adhesive on the badges and some dental floss. Once they were off, I used goo-gone to get the leftover adhesive that was still on the car. None of it harmed the finish one bit.

Goo-Gone won't really hurt it, its not too strong of stuff.

Your paint around the badges will be super faded and you'll notice where they were. I had that problem on my 2009... Get some rubbing compound.

Car wasn't the point of the thread, just how to get the badges off. I miss the old style badges that had the pegs they were much less prone to falling off
