I have a stock halo. It worked perfect but then the shells broke so i didn't use it for a while. Then when i finally bought new shells for it, it dosn't work. I checked all the wires, put in new batteries, and tried another board. Any body know whats wrong?
Make sure that the motor and eyes are connected properly to their ports on the board. Also, check the connections for the batteries and on the motor. You may have accidentally pulled a wire loose.
If its not the board its the motor.
Have a replacement motor by any chance?
And it just happened to go bad after adding a new shell? Could happen but it's very unlikely.
To the OP. You may of screwed something up when you installed the new shell, it's not hard to pinch a wire. Or you've some across a poor tolerance issue. You need to check it all again. What happens when you connect it all and turn it on while the catchcup, board, and battery aren't in the shell? That's the best way to see if it's a tolerance issue. I've had to take a dremel to 2 out of the 6 shells I've owned cause of the motor pin rubbing against them. I've also had several pieces that would fit in 1 stock shell but not right in another. Halo tolerances are crap.
Well it took me about 4 months to get new shells for it so i dont know if that has anything to do with it. I tried it w/o the shells on several times with different boards, still woudln't work. All the wires seem to be perfectly fine. So im stumpt.....
k if it still won't run when it's out of the shell then you've eliminated things like the motor rubbing on the shell so all I can think of is your motor has gone bad. Kinda strange for it to go while just sitting but I guess it's possible
