Open House Events

Do you guys attend them?

I only ask because our student government sent out an email that all of the clubs on campus are required to now attend the open house this Saturday in order to keep getting funded.

Trying to get some ideas down...so I was thinking:

1)Maybe a sign up list for prospective freshman...
2)Distinguishing between tournament style/woodsball but still encouraging players to join regardless of playing preference
3)Making sure the cadets representing us extend a welcome for these prospective freshman to come practice/play with us at our fields
4) Represent sponsors somehow?
5) ?
6)?

Any ideas? I don't have to worry about making sure our representatives are dressed appropriately..they require us to be in our Salt & Pepper uniforms (military haha).

Negative..just the typical 'visit for a day...get the jist of the school' kind of deal.

thats what our college for a weekend is. we were there just to let prospective students know about what kind of activities the school offers...we talked to kids and answered any questions and gave them business cards with contact information

I think this is the best way to go.

Our open house is more of "if you are thinking about going here" kind of thing so the best approach is more informational. If anything, people will go home and tell their friends etc that there is a paintball team etc.

We did something like that, wasn't required though.

We just set up a TV playing a few DVD's and had some posters set up at a table. All of us had our team jerseys and a few paintball items like packs, and mask on the table.

I want to say we signed up close to 150 people, for the rec ball days. I wasn't in charge of that list so I can't say we've done anything with them.

Towson PB has attended the Club Fair and has had good success with promotion and awareness, but we've never been at the University's Open House. I'm sure it would do nothing but good considering each year we get new blood from the freshman and they can get the info that much faster if they see it before even getting to campus.

All of your ideas are great. Set up a laptop with some pictures on a slideshow of your team or even better a video. Then have little pieces of paper with all the info (fbook, pbnation, website, number/name, etc) to hand out.
