Angel G7 vs A1 and other Angel questions

Hello there,

I have been away from paintball for a long time. I have shot the LCDs, IR3s, I still have my 2k3 Limited Edition LCD. The latest Angel when I was still playing was the Speed. The Angel Speed kinda disaappointed me so I switched to Matrices.
I played tournament ball since 10-man was still alive then 7-man, then x-ball, but now just streetball.
So I am back now, and would like to return to Angels so I got some questions. I would really appreciate some answers. So here they are:

How are the Angel G7's? Good points? Any bad points?

How are the Angel A1's? Good points? any problems with it?

Compared to the Speed how are the G7 and A1s?

Any major difference between G7 and A1?

How are the Angels now are they up to par with the Egos, NTs, SLs?

Any other thoughts are welcome.

Thank you for reading.

Which speed? There were three of them.

Most important question, arguably.

Answer is a resounding YES. Look at Joy Division if you want a public image. Otherwise, my team is sponsored by Angel and we took first place at NCPA Huntington Beach. A1s and A1 Flys are solid platforms which, when taken care of, will perform right alongside whatever PE and Dye are throwing out right now.

How about the g7s? How are they?

So what year did the G7s come out? How about the A1s?

Any known issues from these new Angels?

I don't know much about the G7 platforms. 05-06 for the G7? A1's came in 2006, iirc. Fly's in '07? Angel isn't releasing guns each year like PE and Dye.

Anyone with a G7 want to answer this fellow's questions?

G7's are much larger, heavier than the A1 platform. They shoot smoother than the A1 IMO, but not as smooth as the A1 with Fly internals. They're more "traditional" since they have a real locking breach however. They were the last Angels that used a battery pack, so required charging (unless you replaced the board with a 9V board).

Personally, I love the G7 platforms, but with magno (Fly) internals, Critical trigger, and the new boost bolt (which minimizes air lost from the A1 breach which was the major issue with the A1 platform IMO) I will choose the A1 over the G7 every time if performance is the basis for the choice.

G7s use the same breech locking system as the A1 series. The 05 Speed was the last gun to use a locking rod.

So as I can see, g7 and a1s are really great guns?

How is the upkeep? My biggest problem with the early model Speed is that it chopped a lot of balls. My big problem with the 2k3 LCD is that it was very picky with its air source, so I had to get the Angel AIR.
Does the G7 and A1 take any preset N2 tanks?
Does it work well stock.

Thanks a lot for all the input. I am 80 percent of going back to Angels

ok how about you do this. READ or use search for some of these. Theres a **** ton of these threads in the APS forum with the same questions asked on a weekly basis. do yourself and us a favor and hold off on asking anything else and take a look around for a bit. and our opinions are gonna be bias as majority of us seasoned vets with angels prefer g7flys over A1's. Yes they are nice but VERY quirky especially buying a used one where you got no clue how the previous owner treated it. so you could end up spending 300 on a gun and spending another 3-400 replacing everything in it cuz the p.o. didnt know how to maintain it.

Shibby your reply sounded like your an ***, but it made a lot of sense. Angels do tend to be quirky when not maintained well. And you read my mind. Yes, I am trying to buy a used one.

@Winnebago Yes I have had both those experience, maybe lemons I do not know.
But I see you are looking for a project Angels; I have a Blue C&C 2k3 Limited Edition LCD if you are interested. PM if you want it.

Thanks again.

They're quirky if a.) the user is an idiot, or b.) it's an A1.

you might wanna edit calling me an *** cuz you will get an infraction for bypassing swear filter.

tuff love my man tuff love. ive been around the block with angels trust in that.

if your gonna buy a used a1 sick with ones the APS regulars are selling. we can be methodical in maintainance. AOG has quite a few on there also.

That's more of a question you should be asking in regards to WDP.
