Lol, yeah. Just on the dirt roads to get out to where we set up camp. It was right after it rained and I was sliding all over the place.

We rented some little ~1000cc buggy (one of the faster ones you can rent... can't remember what it was) and mobbed around for the weekend... Soooo much fun, and that buggy couldn't even make it up most of the big hills.

Nice. I used to mess around with my MX-6 in the dirt back in the day. Fun stuff nothing wrong with a little rally action.

Thanks guys. It's got a dual port 1835 with big valve heads, 44 IDF and some other good stuff. I had the front end built by someone else. My welds aren't very pretty so I preferred someone with experience do them.

depends on the class

100k fairly easily then you need tires and race prep, etc

How are the cylinders holding up? Are they 92mm slip in 90.5mm clearencing, or are they the 92mm slip in 94mm clearencing?

My friends and I just started these little rally setups up in the Palmdale/Lancaster area lately. They have Scoobs, Audi's, R32 Golf's, and Evo's and stuff, and I have my Mini. It's fun none the less taking a turn, down shifting, and just sliding the **** out of it. Definitely much, much, much easier than doing it on a videogame. Dirt makes that **** damn near impossible to do without ****ing up your car.

Sick baja rigs, though.

Claw - 1835 68x92
-Fat Performance Intake
-CB Performance Big Valve Heads
-HD Rocker Arms
-Full flowed and sand sealed case

Harley - CVs can be a *****! We just had a bad showing at Vegas to Reno so we're thinking about going out to the Baja 1k to race. If we don't finish the car in time we'll just chase like we usually do. The last time I raced it was in a 1600 car.

Weston - The class 9 can be had for about $8-10k. The class 12 about $30-60k. I bought my baja for $5k and put thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars into it. I'm working out a trade for another buggy right now.

D.I.K.U. - Only the baja is mine. I drive the class 9 but don't own it. The class 12 belongs to my uncle and dad.

sdwinder - I agree with you, I've always been a much better driver in real life.

I was just wondering how the cylinders are machined. You have a couple options in the 92mm flavor. The ones that slip onto the head and case of flycuts designed for 90.5 cylinders and those that slip into cuts that are made for 94mm. The traditional 1835 is made to slip into 90.5 and have a fairly thin sidewall, the ones that slip into a 94mm flycut are nice and beefy, great for boost and hold to heat well. If it's the 90.5 you'll just need to rebuild sooner but that's not that big of a deal. I was just curious because I don't know many people that go the 94mm flycut route.

You got me on that one. The previous owner built it so I couldn't tell you which path he chose.
