Seeing as Administration is currently moving sub-forums around, we thought it a good time to bring up the issue of OSST. Since its creation, regular posters have pushed for a extending of the allowed join dates. This would eliminate the problem of new, immature posters causing problems. We all know that it is a general rule that older users know how to post respectfully, and provide quality topics, hence OSST's existence in the first place. We know this topic has been brought up and shot down in the past, but with the new influx of users in the past couple of years, it seems like the need to bring it up has risen.

We propose that the join date requirement be pushed back to 3 years. The majority of quality posts come from users in that time slot. A set date like 2005 or 2006 would not account for some of the older users dropping off, so pushing the join date requirement back still allows some new entries.

Unfortunately I do not think the one year wait to access OSST will change. It has been mentioned a few times before and obviously it's still at one year.

I can understand your frustration with some of those threads, but I believe people post them in OSST for a mature response and not to have them spammed which would possibly occur in ST.
