Which direction?

So, I've been playing for 4-5 years now. I left my first team about 6 months ago, so I've been free to explore myself as a paintball player more, and I've come to a crossroads of sorts. I've been playing scenario almost exclusively, but I want to get into something more competitive/improve myself as a player. So, I see 2 paths ahead of me, with marker purchases corresponding to each path.

Path 1: Go pump. Right now I'm leaning towards getting an Azodin Kaos Pump, if not then a CCI Phantom. I've heard that spending some time with a pump gun can greatly improve one's skills all around, plus save plenty of money on paint.

Path 2: Go high end. Looking at an Etek 2, if not then an Invert Mini. Basically, get a marker that I know will be good for about any situation and keep me satisfied for the years to come, and just push myself harder by playing more pickup woodsball and woodsball tourneys, and a little pickup speedball, in place of a lot of the big scenarios.

I realize this is ultimately my decision to make, but I'd like some input from the guys who have been there and done that.

i would go with a really nice pump, like a ccm s6, that gun will make you play better, but if you really wanted to, you could play with it on the speedball field, in a tourney (ive done it, and it was the most fun i ever had)

if anything pic up a decent cheap pump and look into todays mid range market for guns, or even a used higend. just because its more than 3 years old doesnt mean the it wont keep up.
these types of gund had a reason they sold originally for over $1000
