Canon XTi / 400D Hack - ISO 3200 and Spot Metering
Don't know if anyone knows about this, but I recently stumbled upon this. It enables the 400D to increase its ISO range up too 3200. It allows more increments of ISO levels starting at ISO 16.
This hack also allows spot metering. You can view the exact shutter count taken by the camera acessing the factory menu (don't know if this was possible before the hack.
Anyways, I decided to check it out and it works amazing! The process itself wasn't very clear, but it took < 30 min to figure it out. The first time I've ever used the print button Also, this hack is reversible, just format the card or use another.

Aaand technically you're still on the same boat as the thread's creator, as your 3200 is still an amplification of 1600.
No hax required.

Here is a sample I just took with a 1d3 @ 6400. I've never used it past 800 yet so was curious as to how it held up. The only thing lighting that is rope light in the distance, so this sample really shows the crap of low light grain.
