So yeah, I am a vet, but I wanna know how I can get my friend into it. Ovb he says money is an issue and it is, but I wanna know some tips from you people on how you got your friend into it. He thinks it is really easy and he could go pro in it if he wanted to. I just laughed at him. Then I said for him to prove it then he gave me the money excuse...
Anyway, He just says... "all you do is don't get hit" I was like. okayy try doing that in xball. lol...
So yeah, This is not about him being a hater or anything. He likes paintball the idea of it, but only knows who Ollie lang is and what a DM6 is and what a paintball is...haha... and that is about it. lol

take him out and let him use some of your gear and he only needs enough cash for entry and like half a case of paint probly then hell get hooked
Exactly, I took my one friend paintballing and let him use my first gun (crappiest spyder ever) and he was hooked imidatly, he was so hooked the minute he got home he asked his dad to take him to go get paintball equipment. Well that was years ago and now he and I go paintballing at least once a week. I have no regrets bringing him and he has no regrets on being hooked. Yes money was tight in some spots, but then we thought ok we dont go this week and just go another time. Wait untill he saves up and has enough for a entry fee then let him use some of your gear. Also for him thinking he can go pro and he never played before Tell him to go on youtube and watch some x-ball games. Im preaty sure he will find himself fortunate to be called a noob.
Hope I helped,
~Joey

Pay for him. Let him use your GOOD gear, and you use the extra stuff, or rentals. He'll have a great time and he'll want to return next time. Just make it so it doesnt cost him anything, why wouldn't he go in that case?

You gas up the marker, put on the mask, and walk onto the field. It doesn't matter that you failed a test, didn't get the girl, or got a ticket on the way there. This is your heaven on earth. Live it, love it, play it.

Its hard enough for a person to pay for themselfs lets alone for two people and now they have to use the ****ty rental. I would not suggest letting him use your good gear because remeber he has no idea how to play...so why would I let him use my ego, I4's, dye attack pack, rotor, jersey and pants? Then Im stuck on the sidelines with a crappy tippmann. And on top of that he starts picking up paintball off the ground, now you have a jammed loader, and coated eyes. Its not worth all the trouble to do that. But letting him use your back-up is a good idea because you dont even use your back-up that often. Thats IMHO so you dont have to agree, and for some reason people think I type in a angry manner, I am not angry in the least......especially not at you!

Paintball is just like crack, one try and you won't stop.
i think paintballs have crack in them....there is just something about the adrenaline rush and the thrill of thinking you could get tagged at any second, where will it come from. and then in woods, thinking every branch that cracks (it appears paintball and crack are one and the same ahaha) is the opponent sneaking up on you. in my very first game when i was 11, i got shot right in throat. i thought i was gonna die. but guess where i was 3 nights later? at the local shop buying my own gear. (Piranha GTI baby)
a shot to the throat at 11 years old, and SHAM-WOW! im still playing 7 years later. the pros outweigh the cons big time. im actually going sunday as part of a college "bonding experience"....time to **** **** up hahaha

ive kinda got the same thing goin on with a friend and he always had an excuse like for my birthday it was on a sunday so he said he HAD to go to church and couldnt go to the saturday service and ive offered to take him and pay for him and he still always finds an excuse any ideas
No he ant afraid of it. He is one of those "tough" kids that do MMA and stuff and wants to try to become a pro ufc fighter.
He just thinks it is not popular enough and thinks Halo is more popular. That is something else he wants to go pro in. lol.

Just get a couple of friends to go. Put together an average setup and then let him go at it. Just a backup hopper/marker/tank maybe a mask. Then split paint a few ways and it should be less than 40 bucks for him. If he can't do that, then there is no way he can afford to get into paintball. You can fork over the 40 and he plays free, but that's dumb.
I went at a friends birthday party at CPX Sports. Fell in love.
convince him to come just one time if he likes it recommend some guns tanks and hoppers and masks in his price range he doesn't have to buy it all at once and if he doesn't then let him be so he may rent again and come occasionally

don't bother trying, if he wants to play, he will play... honestly, i don't recommend mixing the world of paintball with your social life.
BUT: If you really want to try and get him into it, organize a group of your friends so hes not the only new player out there. Make it a social event.
You did a pretty good job of contradicting yourself here. You don't suggest mixing paintball with a social life, but you recommend he makes it a social event? I don't get it. Are you one of those kids that shows up at the field alone and doesn't know anyone?
Last time i took a group of my friends to play they loved it. They ask me to play all the time now, 2 of them were chicks .
