Need help

Well I just traded my 30gb Ipod Video for x inf4m0u5 x 's 16gb ipod touch. He told me in a PM that the only problem it consists of was that it would turn off when it was on hold for a while but would turn right back on. And later on when we both recieved pictures, I asked about the problem. He told me that it just turns off on hold, turns right back on, and the only way that fixed it for him was by jailbreaking the ipod touch which I was ok with. Well the first day I recieved the touch, it was fine, but then again I was at work and touched it once. Then the next day it would turn off and stay off for multiple hours, when I say multipe 3+ so I jailbroke the firmware he sent it with (2.2.1) The problem continue and stayed off for 2+ hours. After that I upgraded to the newest firmware (3.1) and the problem consisted. I found a way to jailbreak it on the 3.0 firmware and so on downgraded to 3.0 to do it. Probleme consisted and stayed off for 24+ hours. I told him how I wanted my ipod back and that he told me that it would turn right back on and it did not. Then he replied stating " Im the thread I said that you had to tap the back if it would stay off for awhile " I can provide screenshots if needed and I went through all the pm's and this never was said and there never has been a 16gb ipod touch thread he has posted. So I continue to get frustrated and demand it back or I would report him. Right now he just asks questions, its been about 24 hours since hes replied and I know hes been on and has posted since then, he has also read my last PM and hasnt replied.

When i told him I was going to report him and call the cops he told me I could not do that. In my eyes I am allowed to because he lied to me about his product regardless?

Opinions and options of what to do is appreciated.

You should definitely start by reading the threads stickied in the Theft Forum. There's some good advice in there and different advice on what to do now. Unfortunately, there's not a lot we can do here. We have no way of knowing what actually transpired with the deal and we don't have the resources here to mediate Buy/Sell/Trade deals, even if they were made on our website. We just don't know what was promised, what was delivered or if either party is telling us the whole truth.

I would be very cautious dealing with anyone on the site. If they have lots of positive feedback spread out over a long time, that should ease some of your fears. However, if you are nervous about a deal, the other party is trying to rush you or it sounds too good to be true, just don't do it.

You should leave them negative feedback so other users are aware they don't live up to their side of the bargain. Sometimes the feedback will help them know you are serious about the problem as well.

In the future, we strongly recommend you use one of our mods to act as a third party. It might cost a little more, but that way you know you'll get what you were supposed to get.

Before you do another deal on PbNation, we also recommend you read the B/S/T Tips. They might not have saved you this time, but there is a lot of valuable information in there.
