So I wedged myself into a stupid argument with my neighbors, and I thought id get ST's opinion.
As I was driving home yesterday at around 4:00 pm, I noticed a bunch of kids playing outside in the street by my driveway, So I slowed down and waited for the kids to get out of the way. Finally when they cleared I continue towards my house and suddenly a skateboard shoots out under my car and I run over it. I hear a huge crack and my car kind of jumps and it scares the **** outa me thinking I hit a kid.
I get out to find a smashed skateboard, as well as its owner, and the kids parents. The kids mom then complains on how I was going to fast, not looking where I was going, and that I owe her $100 for her son to get a new skateboard.
I apologize, but tell her that her kids should be more careful, and that I am not paying her back.
Today she sent my parents as well as the "director" of our neighborhood an email saying I owe her $100 for the skateboard.
I then went over and offered her my old board, a setup I paid nearly $200 for a few years ago, but she refused, and still wants her money.
So ST what should I do
TLDR: I run over a kids skateboard accidentaly, and his mom wants me to repay her $100 for her sons walmart board
Normally they would take a mom's word over a teenager, but you're bst trusted. So you're good to go bro.

But srsly, **** you. You don't remember what it felt like to slip up and have your favorite what ever slip out into the street and destroy it?
Should have at least attempted to compensate.
Edit: nerrmind, if you offered to replace the skate board and she didn't accept, and only wants money, then her son can go **** himself.
You said you waited for them to get out of the street which means you werent speeding, he lost the board and it went into the street. Sounds to me like its all his fault and i wouldnt pay the cheap ***** a dime. That is if your story is 100% true though. Besides how can she say you were speeding if she wasnt there?

and dont offer your board to her offer it to the kid.
after all it was his **** you broke(whether she paid for it or not)
im sure hed appreciate the gesture. despite his mom being a money hungry *****. plus im sure your board is far better although i doubt it costing you 200bones. as i ride some of the nicest **** you can buy and my boards are about $150
The kids obviously saw you coming.....they all got out of your way...... if that little bastard saw you he obviously threw his board under there on purpose ......

you *****, it's the kids ****ing fault. Tell the mom to keep her trash out of your driveway.
Walk into their driveway and yell "**** you, I'm an anteater". Or, post their info on 4chan and let them do their work.
This man has great ideas. Listen to him
