I am trying to persuade my dad into purchasing a new car. So far this task has proved difficult as he is repulsed at the notion of spending any decent sum of money. However, I am well aware he is economically capable of such a purchase as his co-worker of equal stature drives a DB9. My dad drives an IS250.....
Therefore, I have started to compile a list of potential cars which I will present to him as hopeful means of motivation. I feel he genuinely deserves at least a decent car, and ultimately I want something fun to drive when I come home from school.
So far the list is comprised of:
Carrera 911 Turbo
Carrera 4S
GTR
ZO6
SRT-10
SL55 AMG
E92 M3
E90 M3
M6

That's really cool your dads co-worker of equal stature drives a DB9 though that's wicked sweet. My friend's brother's boss's uncle drives a LP670 and he works with my Dad so I pretty much am a co-owner of a LP670.

Obviously the majority are used.
Any suggestions?
Your altruism is touching.
If he has 80k to dump on a car, tell him to buy a BMW 5 series or a Lexus LS, not some boy racer's wet dream that you want.

If I ever hit the lottery I have a feeling most of it would die with me.

So, you're bothered by the fact that your father doesn't feel the need to have an expensive car? Sounds like you've got some insecurities. Either that or your fathers coworker makes significantly more than he does and you're just not aware of neither his nor your father's finances. It's not like he's driving a 20 year old piece of ****, he's driving a recently made Lexus.
