Not quite what I meant, but you know what I mean. Some of the older Honda engines, around 91-2000, were simply amazing as far as horsepower. The b16A1 that came in the 92 CRX SiR was a 1.6 that produced 160 horsepower, without forced induction (boosted engines don't count really). Also, the B18C5 out of the 96-99 Civic type-R was 185 HP at 1.8 liters. The best part is they still get great gas mileage, and if you build it right you can get up to 550+ HP.

The ****ty part, like you said, is that without the cubic inches, there can be no torque.

You can boost your 4 or 6 banger all you want if a blown and NOS'd 454 comes to the line you are still not going to beat him.

I routinely smoked the 87 Grand Nationals with a normally aspirated 383 and a 5 speed. Turobs tend to smoke the tires at 60 feet due to the turbos kicking in, once you loose traction you lose the race.

I have seen many a ricer beat the snot out of the musclecar guys around here due to power to weight. Big cubes are nice, but getting those cubes to the pavement without burning your rubber off is entirely different.

True if you can't hook up it doesn't matter how many horses you bring to the fight.

10 pounds to 1 horse power ration was the optimal combination when I was running the 1/4 tracks. Anything more you tended to break loose anything less and you were out gunned.

Speaking of 6 banger turbo. My buddy has a twin turbo 350z with a direct port wet shot getting over 750hp to the rear wheels. Actually It was getting about 750 with out the wet shot and I havent talked to him since he ordered it so it could be into the 900's by now Oh to top it off he has sick system in it.
