* "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" - A folk song by Anne Bredon, this was originally credited as "traditional, arranged by Jimmy Page," then "words and music by Jimmy Page," and then, following legal action, "Bredon/Page/Plant."
* "Black Mountain Side" - uncredited version of a traditional folk tune previously recorded by Bert Jansch.
* "Bring It On Home" - the first section is an uncredited cover of the Willie Dixon tune (as performed by the imposter Sonny Boy Williamson).
* "Communication Breakdown" - apparently derived from Eddie Cochran's "Nervous Breakdown."
* "Custard Pie" - uncredited cover of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down," with lyrics from Sleepy John Estes's "Drop Down Daddy."
* "Dazed And Confused" - uncredited cover of the Jake Holmes song (see The Above Ground Sound Of Jake Holmes).
* "Hats Off To (Roy) Harper" - uncredited version of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down."
* "How Many More Times" - Part one is an uncredited cover of the Howlin' Wolf song (available on numerous compilations). Part two is an uncredited cover of Albert King's "The Hunter."
* "In My Time Of Dying" - uncredited cover of the traditional song (as heard on Bob Dylan's debut).
* "The Lemon Song" - uncredited cover of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" - Wolf's publisher sued Zeppelin in the early 70s and settled out of court.
* "Moby Dick" - written and first recorded by Sleepy John Estes under the title "The Girl I Love," and later covered by Bobby Parker.
* "Nobody's Fault But Mine" - uncredited cover of the Blind Willie Johnson blues.
* "Since I've Been Lovin' You" - lyrics are the same as Moby Grape's "Never," though the music isn't similar.
* "Stairway To Heaven" - the main guitar line is apparently from "Taurus" by Spirit.
* "White Summer" - uncredited cover of Davey Graham's "She Moved Through The Fair."
* "Whole Lotta Love" - lyrics are from the Willie Dixon blues "You Need Love."
Were all stolen and uncredited by page. Jimmy page is a fraud and led zeppelin is a glorified cover band.

Everyone already knows this and still loves zeppelin. ALL bands have influences..
uh, this isnt influence, this is ****ing outright theft. Covered word for word without credit from jimmy page. People are just unable to find fault with their heroes.
The thing with alot of those songs are they were never properly copywrited, giving him full right to legally take the stuff from them and not have to cite anything.

I have no problem with it from a legal standpoint, I have problems when people think jimmy page actually had talent.
So you posted this because you wanted to remind everyone that Jimmy Page has no musical talent? Well we all appreciate you letting us know. This thread was an excellent reminder, just really great. It must've been bothering you, the hundreds of people going around posting about Jimmy Page's amazing tallent.

Alright? I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion as to whether they think Page had talent or whether he was a complete and utter theif. I personally enjoyed a lot of the stuff he played.
Think about it this way: Big bands always have those fans who really enjoy their music and cover their music on youtube or whatever. They eventually get really good at doing the cover and the solo and everything are damn near perfect. Now, does this mean they have no talent as guitarists? Of course not. Does this mean that they may lack talent in the musical writing department? Yeah, probably. And plus, those are 16 out of a ton of Zeppelin songs. And unless you missed some, the remainder of their songs are legit and actual songs.
just because he didn't credit them, you think he is a bad musician/guitarist? how dense are you? if he had credit them, what difference would it have made? Jimi hendrix covered bob dylan songs, but that doesn't make him any worse of a guitarist. Jimmy Page is a very talented musician. He didn't credit those people because he didn't need to. Led Zeppelins versions of the songs are way different than the originals.

Sorry, 16 songs is A LOT of songs to steal music/lyrics from. Especially when you consider how some of those songs were their most remembered ones.
Obviously this doesn't mean Page is untalented, however, it does mean he is uncreative and dishonest.

That makes no sense. Just because you stole something and did it differently doesn't change the fact that you stole it. The original artists do deserve credit.

Not doesn't make it any less of an incredibly ****ty thing to do. Nor that even a valid argument... Where are you getting that from?
