It was an adjustable screw in and it just when he was standing there the reg just exploded and all the 4500 psi sent the tank at least 200 ft. The NPPL confiscated it and are taking care of the issue.

metalback- it was me Kretas.. There was nothing JP could do, this was completely a malfunction on the tanks part, he even inspected the tank before it went to San Diego, completely fine, pretty new tank. For some reason it just blew up, nothing anyone could do.

Its easy for some of you guys to say a lot of the things you said. I am the one with the pictures. I have done work with the law. I was a paralegal for a few years. I had to make sure that if I did post them that I would be within my legal rights. I dont need the manufacturer giving me a hard time. They have a lot more money then I do.
BELIEVE ME.........I WANT people to know what kind of tank this was. I don't want anyone to get hurt.
What I meant about my comment was that people who take off their own regs and are not trained should not attempt to do it. It is not only unsafe for them self but unsafe for those around. If you want to do that wait till you get to the event.I am sure their are trained techs all around who will SAFELY and CORRECTLY do it for you. Flya I know you didnt mess with your regs. I meant no bad vibes. Just wanted people to be aware. It was John Lydston I was talking about.
Safety is the key. It will make our sport a lot better in the long run.
Pics to come soon. Promise.
Peace
Kimo

FEEDBACK
Jack Bauer once went into a bar, and asked for a 'Jack Bauer'. He received three shots of Jack Daniel's, a shot of kerosene and four shots of tequila mixed. When seeing this, another man approached the bar and asked for a Jack Bauer. He got a 9mm round to the face.

Geesh, nitroduck has a very good track record. I dont want to blame anyone, but I am finding it quite hard to believe that something like this could happen without a little help--either from being banged really hard or poor inspection, etc. I have a nitroduck and am very curious as to the exact cause of the malfunction. I have never heard of metal breaking in half without something causing some stress in the metal first--which nitroduck could be responsible for in their assembly.
Call me paranoid, but honestly I never feel very comfortable filling my tank to its full capacity. I will usually only fill to 3500 4000, and maybe thats what everyone should start doing--just to be a little safer.

For rhe people concearned about out of date tanks being allowed, my tank had expired 10 DAYS befor the event, and I was NOT permitted to use it. I had to barrow a spare from a teammate.
