I really dont think that NPPL would care if they put the gun on the robot and it bounced a little. Thats understandable that there is no way to tell if its set up correctly or not if you cant use the robot. In this case 10 bps were added which is clearly something you can tell by using your eyes and ears. It was blatently cheating and was penalized as such. Nice job NPPL!

You know if you get the information right, it makes you sound at tad smarter. Just thought I'd let you know.

Any board with a debounce setting is a cheater board.
Why not just only sell boards with a "debounce" period of 30 ms? Why have it adjustable to less than 30 MS at all?

Telling a board manufacturer to cap their debounce is like telling a car manufacturer to cap their top speed... ya, that's smart . What about people not playing at the tournament level that want to shoot illegally fast? What then? Have 5 different version for the 5 different debounce settings that people want? Good call

What my bmw isnt a performance car? What you saying, its a pile? Thats it, you and me outside, we need to settle this......
Kidding, I was just giving you a hard time. But really, the only way to crack down on this stuff is to "govern" the speeds of guns.

the robot should be available before hand so each player can be sure that they are within the boundaries. its like not giving a car a spedometer and then setting speed limits, there is no way to know. if you shoot your gun and you think it is not at all bouncing, with the robot, it could shoot like 1 extra ball, and you could potentially get dq'd for it

How much would it be worth to teams, individuals to test guns at events?

If someone were to have the same set up as nppl and would allow teams or players to have there marker tested for a fee. How much would it be willing to pay to have this added security.

Either, Saying that I'm sure there would be a discount for teams of 7. Just a thought and of course there would be a statement that there was no gurantee that you would still not get DQ'ed during the tounrey. I also hear that they are changing the rules that the player himself gets DQ'ed not the whole team but I guess we will have to wait till the 05 rule book comes out.

ok, there are getting to be way too many rules. I agree that bounce shouldn't be allowed in tournies, but one persons marker bouncing should not dq an entire team. What if the person put his marker on db1 and didn't tell his team mates, so its punishing an entire team for one man's error. They should give them a penalty or dq that one person, not an entire team, theres too much money in the event.

I havea solution to the whole problem. Take all restrictions off except FPS and let em rip. Just enforce the overshoot rule.
That solves all problems.

Since you asked, yes - if I pull the trigger, a paintball comes out. I prefer reliability over FPS any day of the week.
But, it was an electrical engineering question. Nobody is pulling their trigger faster than about 50ms per interval (that's 20 bps). If you set the debounce to a minimum of 30 ms, you will in no way impact legal use - you'll only stop cheaters.
If you are selling a board, and you have a debounce setting that allows the board to be set so that trigger events <30 ms apart are accepted, YOU ARE SELLING A CHEATER BOARD.
Claiming otherwise is like selling landmines and saying they're not REALLY landmines unless you step on them.

There wouldn't have to be so many rule if people would just play straight up ball.
DQ ing only the player will not deter teams from using illegal boards. The players who are smart about using illegal boards are not getting caught. The whole team must bear the penalty by being DQed. That is the only way the penalty will make people think twice about using a cheater board or a really low db setting.
