ETEK 4 Grease & Oil

Hey guys i got my Etek 4 not to long ago and it works great and all but I just have one problem. When ever i want to clean my gun I don't know what substance I should use for what part. I've watched many videos for maintenance but they always use different substances. So I'm wondering if you could tell me what substance to use for my Reg , bolt and my rammer so Oil or Lube

THanks

Use what the factory recommends via the manual.

Be sure to download and read the manual before maintaining your marker.

Mhmmm i see good idea. Also badlands paintball make videos and they say you should use oil on the fast moving parts (bolt and rammer) and grease in the reg. Is that correct or flawed?

The company that design, and built the marker will know better then some store. Best to just use what the manual says to do.

The manualgives step by step instruction with pics for each part of your markers maintenance. Wile I never had an etek only and ego 11 it requires oil on the bolt and rammer and grease everywhere else (slr, lpr, pops, ect)

Ok, so does that mean you should use oil in a g6r rammer because it is a fast moving part?

No, it's actually almost a polar opposite. You use Dow 55.

Just follow the manual as gamer said

in case of the bob long marker such as g6r you are correct due to the tighter tolerances. he is referring to an etek which uses oil on the ram and bolt.

I suggest downloading the manual like others said. They're all over the internet.

If you're unable to get a manual go with this:

Lube (Grease)
- Inline Regulator Piston
- Low Pressure Regulator Piston

Oil
- Rammer
- Bolt

Use lube on the lpr and inline reg and use oil on the rammer and bolt. Personally I use the planet eclipse lube and oil and they work just fine. I also recommend every one in a while put a drop of oil on the threads of your Asa an screw your tank in to help not only make it easier to screw the tank in but save the threads on your tank. Also doesn't hurt to put a little bit of oil on the threads that screw the reg together just so you know it will screw apart easy enough the next time you have to take apart the reg to lube it. This is what I do with my etek 4 and it works like a dream.

I'm gonna be a dick and say that I believe getting a super high quality grease is a better choice and then using it strategically depending on the part will help you get the most out of it without having to do as much work to it.

Like a light coating on the bolt Orings, but then leave some extra in the reg to make sure it lasts a long time.

but unless you know 1000000% what you're doing, just stick with the manual as people say

You'd actually use Dow 55 on a gun with LOOSE tolerances because it swells the orings to make up for any tolerance issues.
