Just got my New Lava Flavored JT Spectra Lens!!!!

OK, Maybe this post should be on the Proflex pic thread, but I have been waiting for this lens to be released for over six months! I'm excited, and want to brag, and want everyone to go buy one right now so they keep making these awesome new lenses! As the title states, Here is my new Prizm 2.0 Lava lens on my LE sky proflex! The sky camo is really nice if you look down on people.. on a clear day I guess... Ordered it all from ANSgear.com
The first pic is low light, second natural light, and third is flash. Notice how the lens looks blue in the flash; that is what tint you will see when actually looking out through the mask itself. I was hoping for a little bit of blue blocking from the lava lens, but after strutting around the house, I like it plenty. Enjoy!

In the future for colored mirror lenses the tint is "usually" is an opposing color of the reflected color. For example the Dye, JT and Virtue blue mirror lenses look orange from the inside and are blue blocking (I mean they reflect blue light obviously).

These look great though.

Thats great. glad they are finally out. Its been way way too long.

p.s. thats a color not a flavor

Big question here..are the new prism lenses darker in the center and lighter on the sides like the original? Or is the overall darkness the same across the whole lens (when wearing the goggles)?

As far as I can tell they are uniform, and just shimmer in the different direction of light. I really wanted the gold, but the colors would really clash. Wish I had my old blue IZE mask, I bet thatd look great with the gold. Anyway, as far as I can tell, the finish is more of a light filter/reflector type (kinda what playdoh was saying I think).

How dark are these in comparison to the older jt chrome lenses. I've got a pair on my flex8's and my only complaint is that they are soo dark.

Not bad actually. Dark enough to keep the sun from straining my eyes, but light enough I can see no problem with the shades drawn inside. Definatly not as dark as regular sunglasses

I ordered a gold one. I'll do a comparison versus current production Chrome Prism.

Sure wasn't. In fact, i'd probably be laughed off any actual competetive playing field with my ion or mech cocker lol! I will be out there the next two saturdays hopefully. I wish I could work in with a team and get a taste of tournament level play though! I never feel out matched when playing rec ball with known tourny players at least.

Gold looks outstanding lewizz!

Here is my Gold.

They look great in person..very colorful not strictly gold so they definitely have a prism effect going on.

They don't have the extra dark in the center / lighter color on the sides like the old prizm lenses had.

The base lens is a lighter blue tint, not smoke or very dark at all. The overall effect is decently tinted, but definitely not the extra-dark feel of the old prism lenses.

This will probably be an advantage most of the time, but I loved my prism lenses on extreme bright and hot days... I would have liked to see one of the new prism lenses have a dark base color.

I won't know until I get some good field time in whether or not I will keep some chrome prism's around for the brightest of days or not.

If you remove and install the lens a few times it becomes real easy. Takes me like 60 seconds if I go as slow as possible.

Yeah but some frames Ive had are super stiff and/or molded so that the slots for the lens tabs are really small. Those were all old style frames mind you.

Start with the nose tabs or cut small slits in the nose slots to make it easier to put the tabs in.
