There's a lot of good options. Do you prefer poppets or spool valve guns? On the lower end, I have a G5 and really enjoy the marker. I have had exactly 0 issues with almost a year of ownership.

I'm a HUGE FX fan... So I say grab it used for $250-$300 or new for $400 on ansgear.com with three upgrades you can make this thing soooooo good.

My FX is up'd with both Techt Hush Bolt Pro and Techt LAW Ram, it also has a New Designz Volumizer. These upgrades allow for a much lower operating pressure, much lower sound signature, much smoother shot feel, huge increase in air efficiency and a slightly lower dwell. The marker is also very light in weight and also easy to perform maintainance on.

My settings:
90-95 psi
3ms dwell
285-295 fps

Stick with the g-series. Less chance of snapping eye covers, snapping bolt, and then use that money on a good barrel kit if you don't have one already.

This is also a good option. Imo, the F8 is superior to the FX.

I think you main decision is whether you want a poppet or spool.

The FX is a great gun and pretty light. As mentioned it has a couple upgrades available that really up the enjoy-ability level. I only had the LAW ram in mine and it made a world of difference.

The one issue is they are hit or miss from the factory. I would suggest getting your hands on a used one that you can try out.

The g4 is a great option and can be picked up for cheap. The only upgrade needed is the tech t l7 bolt

well i just want the lightest marker i can find with in reason so thats why i like the g5. i want to pair it with a 50ci peanut tank and i already have a deadly wind barrel with freak kit for a autococker with fits g5. Plus i am just looking to get a g5 for a play to and back up gun. I have a Karnivor, rasta A1 angel, two T15's, and like 4 other markers laying around lol so not looking to spend to much i just like the look and the weight plus they look like they rip.

I am more thinking along the line of if you want to deal with the increased maintenance and possibly tuning of a spool valve.

If weight is literally your only concern i believe the G5 is a bit lighter than the FX.

I weighed my FX and G5 on a food scale and the FX is about two ounces heavier

You can find fx's just over 200 as well. Some may disagree with me but I felt like my g5 had better shot quality (doesn't vibrate as much, less kick) when compared to the fx stock. Not until put the techt LAW ram was I happy with the FX shot quality. If you don't get an fx with the LAW ram, it would be an extra 50 bucks but is well worth it

Even if you decide to go for a used DP Marker i can tell you these are very good markers and with a few tweaks you'll get a high-end like performance
