At my local field in north Florida the field mice like to hang out on the snake side of the field. While the corn snakes hang out on the Dorito tape. And every once in a while the coyote comes out of the woods.

Bunnies. Baby bunnies. Cute, fuzzy, fast moving bunnies. And large birds of prey possibly looking to eat them. Usually bald eagles.

I hate it when a partridge takes off right next to you when you are trying to be sneaky with a pump. Makes me jump every time.

Work days at the local field were always educational.

Happened to me once in TN. The thing must have had a 3-foot wingspan, and its wings made a big racket as they flapped. It flew up about 20 feet and disappeared somewhere in the branches.

Play in Illinois. We had a skunk run across the field mid game. I just walked off after i saw it. No way I am dealing with that stench. I am still waiting for the day someone run through a fort ot something and kicks up or hits a wasp/bee/hornets nest. God I hate those things.

Down at XMS in Missouri, a cow jumped over the electric fence and got all the way to the 50 Dorito. That thing hoofed it quicker to the D 50 than anybody else that day.

About a year ago here in Arizona I was laying next to a thick bush for cover while a buddy of mine was behind me and after about 30 seconds of laying there my friend freaked out and kept telling me DON'T MOVE and I asked him why and he said there's a snake on your legs. So I calmly turned my head to see a diamondback rattle snake bundled in my legs so the refs called the game then I actually had to lay in the same spot for about an hour in the heat of the day (roughly 100 degrees) to wait for animal control to remove the snake from my legs.

This is a not too uncommon scene while warming up at the local field.

what's wrong with a little catch and release elk hunting?

I shot an elk once. Not like it gave a bother.
