How to easily replace the M17 CQC shroud for $16

Changing the CQC composite shroud for a real AR shroud is quite easy.
It will take a couple of metric nuts for the hex bolts, and some grinding with a dremel.
Being cheap, I didn't want to spend upwards of $50 to replace my front shroud on the CQC, which I find quite bulky. So. I went looking and found
a $16 short 4" AR pistol shroud from Ebay, here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251509061407

All I had to do was drill two holes. Then grind down the outer, removable ring so it sits nice and tight against the front of the marker. Then, attach the Milsig brackets to the shroud first, with some blue loctite on the nuts. And screw the brackets to the m17.
Done.

No need for a delta ring.

Do you know of any rails that are the same height as the upper receiver rail to connect with a riser for more stability? Or possibly a quad rail that attaches to the upper receiver rail? I'm concerned about the stability of just screws.

I played with it this weekend, and it's rock solid.
Remember, it's not just the screws that hold it in place. The spits that are ground out on the top and bottom, that have it flush against that body provide the support that also stops it form moving at all.

If your going to get a RIS at about 8 inches, I'm pretty sure Milsig have an 8 inch RIS specific to their markers. Though it will probably run you about $50 for a milsig specific ris.
