I'm farily certain it is legal to carry one fully disassembled especially if you don't have an air tank with you. To be sure though ask your local law enforcement agency what the local laws are on that.

However, is it smart to? Probalby not. Not just from a legal standpoint either. Would be wiser to disassemble your marker and put it in a backpack or even a couple of doubled up grocery bags.

Plus I wouldn't really want to walk down a street caring my gun, barrel, tank, and hopper all my arms. I'd be too afraid of dropping something on payment and breaking it not to mention that would just suck to carry like that. Definitely going in a bag.

putting it in a bag could be considered carrying a weapon concealed, and if your state requires a permit for such things, you COULD be in hot water.

do not ask your local law enforcement, that is like asking Barney Fife not to get gung ho when you hand him a revolver. ( if you watched the Andy Griffith show you'd know what I mean)

ask the District Attorney, or a local attorney who gives free advice and is well versed in weapons laws for your state.
