Thanks. It's 1/4" actually... It was in our class budget for everyone to get like 8 rolls of tape to use on this huge wall. The project was super loose in terms of restrictions, so everyone's ended up waaaayyyy different from eachother's. Fun project

Here's a Nikola Tesla oil painting I did over the past few weeks... Probably not 100% finished, but it's close.

Thanks! The photos were taken with a 'flower set' of fiber optic lights- if that makes sense. I put the lights in a very dark room and take extended exposures as I move the lights and the camera around the lights. The result is never the same and almost always something really awesome like what you see here:

that looks like its supposed to be Walter White to me..

your work's looking really cool, my one piece of advice is to maybe try and stick to a medium a little longer for each time.. you jump around alot (it seems) and maybe a little more time spent mastering the mediums would help you alot..

Thanks both of you! And yeah, that was supposed to be Walter White... Didn't quite capture his likeness, but I think my reference served it's purpose for that one.

And I totally agree with you East告de. Most everything I've posted here is course work from my art classes. They encourage us to be well-rounded artists, no matter the field of study we have chosen to concentrate on. I've definitely found my favorites in terms of media at this point and I think I'll continue to explore even after I graduate so that I don't miss out on anything I might fall in love with. I think my body of work says that I enjoy exploring options and possibilities, which is important to me as an artist. I couldn't agree more that I could really see some progression if I'd narrow my focus a bit- and I'm sure I will once I'm out of school. I just know things are gonna get much more difficult for me once I've gotta start fending for myself financially.

Here's a master study of Paul Gauguin's "The Cellist" I finished up last night:

that looks excellent..much more solid overall in my opinion. im not familiar with the original, but i have always found that replicating others work to any degree can really help you find the techniques that others might use and put them to work.
i am with you in regards to exploring different mediums and trying new things - take advantage of it while you can and while you have the opportunity to do it, it definitely doesn't get easier once you graduate. I wasn't really trying to criticize with that statement at all - I was really just making a point that your work feels like it is on the cusp of being something really really special and different and once you narrow your focus a little you may see that you can achieve alot more in that one area.
im going to make a portfolio thread as well because im bored and i figure why not.. definitely feel free to comment!

Thanks man. You're spot on about master studies... I've learned so much in the two oil painting master studies I've done. I definitely plan to do more. And yeah, I know it's gonna be really difficult, but I've been in the real world for awhile now, so I kinda know what to expect... Loans are nothing to **** with.

Good to see you made a thread!! I'd like to think we're helping to breathe some life into this section lol. Keep busy, I like what I see!

Aaannnddd a commissioned portrait I just made for a coworker:

Love the fact that you experiment with so many different styles and mediums. Keep it up man

Hey, thanks! It helps a lot to have a natural curiosity going into working with a new medium- I've been blessed with that much, so developing a skill using any medium is possible if I'm excited going into it. I've been a bit inactive because I'm in money saving mode now that I have dedicated saving money to put towards a study abroad opportunity in Italy next summer. Here are a few self-portrait sketches I did over the last few weeks though:

Have you done any charcoal pieces? One of my favorite mediums to work with by far.
