DM5 POJECT Q's

Hey nation , just picked up a dm5 as a little project. I wouldn't have normally picked up a gun that needed this much work but for $25 I couldn't go wrong.

Is it common to install an on/off asa?
Can I install one and do away with the on/off on the body altogether and install a plug?
I also can't figure out what board is in it. I can't read the signature on it but the initials are...T H #09 with some Japanese writing on it. I'd post a pic but I've never actually posted a pic in a thread so I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure that out. I'm sure it's simple but...
Any help on all this would be greatly appreciated.

Yes older DMS very frequently had two on/offs people didnt like to use the one under the barrel because it was a source of many leaks.

When I got it , I threaded a tank on it just to get an initial sense of what was going on , it just dumps air from the asa. Seems like it's just blowing right out of that "weep hole" on the asa. Any idea what's up with that?? It's not leaking from any fittings on the asa. It just dumps straight pressure out of the asa

Weird i had a friend with a DM5 that had the non on/off asa doing the same thing....

basically you need a different ASA on there to diagnose i think. Also those super basic ASAs are kinda worthless.

Great deal

As for the on/off on the body, you can mill it it flat , it is roughly the same as a cp flow plug
