Question Alien paintball wants help deciding what barrels to include.

We are about to send the guns into production and have one final option to consider before we pull the trigger on it.

What barrel kit would the players rather have come with their guns? We have two options at the moment.

1 piece carbon fiber barrel with a set of freak style inserts? *same length, no freak logo*

OR a 2 piece kit with 8 inch backs and carbon fiber tip?

Both would include 4 bore sizes. .81 to .89 give or take.

That all depends on the size of the paint. its just about getting the right percentage of overbore with your paint.

Personally I would love a new Freak system with longer control bores.

I know you are not going to do that, just saying as why I vote against the Freak.

Soooooo much this ^^^.

If there was an insert system with long control bores, it would just dominate, IMO. I don't like the freak system because of the short inserts. Voted for the longer backs (assuming that the actual control bore is also near that 8" mark) since I underbore.

Considering they both utilize a carbon fiber tip, there's no real difference as far as sound signature. That brings the deciding factors down to price point, weight, and packaging. Since I doubt anyone here can detect the few gram difference between the aluminum backs and full CF barrel on their complete gun setup, consider this: Which ever comes in more convenient packaging, at a more logical price point, gets my vote.
