I bought mine not too long ago (still have the 1.0 version) and my battery gauge showed full when I started playing this Sunday and went through about 600 rounds and my battery was pretty much depleted. Actually got a little worried because I didn't have a spare 9-volt in my bag. Luckily, made it through the day. Sent it in to Kee this morning to get the 1.5 upgrades done and hopefully they update and reflash the board while they at it.

Both the Axe and Vanquish seem to favor brand name Duracell/Energizer in my experience. I've always used Duracell. Make sure they are brand new batteries and haven't been stored in a gear bag where temps fluctuate and batteries deteriorate.

Make sure you update to the latest firmware. I know the first update dealt with some battery saving features, though I don't think the fix would have been for something as dramatic as your issue. There may be a short happening. For that, I suggest you contact KEE and they'll send you any replacement parts you may need if they can't help you troubleshoot the issue if it's something simple on your end.

What brand batteries were you using when this happened?

Like others have stated, the brand makes a big difference. Updating the firmware should help as well. But stick with the big battery names. I have used the same battery (Energizer) in my Axe and Vanquish for at least 4 months strong.

When you turn the marker off do your eyes stay lit up?
What is your software version?
Is there any paint/water damage to any of the circuit boards in the marker? (Paint can eat through a circuit board and cause erratic behavior).
Is the protective tape installed on the battery leads to protect it from shorts? (its on the solenoid side of the board). If not replace with new electrical tape.

The new update had something about a better battery indication. As in more accurate. But if the battery keeps draining, definitely a board issue.

Hi sdzell do you have a picture or a diagram to point exactly were the eletrical tape should go? not quite sure which place you mean do you mean next to the pressure sensor on the back of the battery conector?
