What operating system are you using?

How are you determining that your USB plug is unrecognized?

ATTENTION MAC USERS - A new version of the Vanquish Apps for OSX Mavericks is now available on paintballsolutions.com

http://www.paintballsolutions.com/in.../about/empire/ scroll down to SOFTWARE for the new Apps.

The new version should now allow users to update Vanquish firmware on their Macs

Note - this is the Beta version, there still may be bugs. If you encounter any bugs feel free to report them in this thread and we will be sure to address them.

I am having an issue with C++. I get an error saying A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine, and it will not allow the install to complete. Any ideas?

Are you sure it's not just preventing the installation of the Redistributable? The program will be in your start menu. By the time it's trying to install the Redistributable the main program has already installed.

Got this same error, also running windows 8.1

I can open the program, but when I click connect then i get another error

Check battery and USB connection.

I can hear my pc recognizing the vanquish when plugged in/out. However I don't think it installed the drivers. When I open device manager and right click on the FT232r ect search for drivers it finds nothing.

You have to tell it where to find the drivers, which are in the installation directory of the Vanquish Softwares. Heres directions on what to do:
1) With Vanquish connected to USB Port go to Start > Control Panel
2) Select "Hardware and Sound"
3) At the next screen select "Device Manager" under "Devices and Printers"
4) In the device manager window under "Other Devices" there should be a device with a name similar to "FT232" with a yellow warning symbol next to it indicating the driver is not installed Right click this to bring up a small menu
5) Select "Update Driver Software"
6) Next select "Browse my computer for driver software"
7) Browse to the USB Driver folder in the Vanquish PC Software Folder. (Typically located in C:\Documents and Settings\*Windows User Name*\Vanquish PC Software\USB Drivers). This should install "USB Serial Converter" which is the first driver
8) To install the second driver repeat steps 4-6. This should install USB Serial Port

this is also in the user manual

Jamie, any news on whether an update will be coming out for the Vanquish Software to include the new rules package that PSP came out with?

Nope - there isn't even an official rule yet but whenever there is a rule update Empire will always make software available as soon as possible

having trouble sync'ing settings, vanquish 2.0, windows 8.1

Both programs load fine, i load custom boot screens onto the vanquish with no problems, says it connects no problems.

When i click sync settings, it works for a bit, pops up and says it was successful, but then i disconnect, boot up the vanquish, and the settings have not changed....

any ideas?

EDIT: Nevermind, tried it again, its working now...

Just downloaded the manual firmware and software from paintball solutions for the vanquish. I followed the directions to try and automatically update the drivers didn't work. I then followed directions to manually install the drivers and there isn't an option after right clicking on the "ft232" to update it. I was and still am connected to the internet so it should've automatically updated but didn't.

Also anytime I open the vanquish usb tool with the marker plugged in it will tell me to check batter and connection and then click connect. Which I followed the trouble shooting of unplugging everything and the battery. Plugging the battery back in then plugging the usb back into the marker then opening and clicking connect and it still pops up with the same thing "check batter and connection then click connect."
I can only assume it's saying this because it needs the drivers but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes it is because the drivers aren't installed.

When you try to update the drivers you should choose the option to pick the drivers location manually rather that trying to have it search for them on the internet. Windows has trouble doing this sometimes.

The drivers are in the folder where you installed the Vanquish USB Tool under "USB Drivers". There is also the "Vanquish PC Software User Guide.pdf" in the directory that will walk you through all the steps of installing the drivers manually should you get stuck.
