DM14 ASA Blowing out air with new Ninja V2 Reg

Hey guys. Quick question. Got a DM14. Also have a new Ninja SL tank with V2 reg set at 550 psi. Because of the ball bearing (I guess) the only way to gas up the DM is to set the ASA to on, then screw the tank in.....

So when the marker is gassed up, and then I de gas the ASA... Air blows out the little hole on the bottom the the ASA. The way to stop this... Unscrew the tank.

Just wondered if anyone had issues too. I talked to Ninja and basically its the design. I put some oil in the ASA.

Just some thoughts. Hopefully I didn't miss anything. Gun shoots amazing though!!!

This happened to me last week...went back to my original ninja pro reg.....problem solved. Also happened to my teammate, both dm14's.
Just going to stick with my original tank.

I think you can resolve this by adjusting the pin housing inside the ASA. I came across this by accident when the lock down screw came out of the grip frame on mine. i thought i had to take the whole ASA apart to fix it, realized after the pin housing was out that i didnt. I then screwed it back in and the ASA leaked. i unscrewed it out about a turn and half and it was all good. it has even become easier to push the lever back and turn on the ASA.

Sorry for the novel and I hope this helps.

EDIT: I Forgot to add that the tank worked completely fine prior to my ASA adjustment. The leak only occurred AFTER I put it back together myself.

Works great on my lv1. No issues. Only dm14 had issue, which really is not a big deal!
Just wish tank was a tad longer...like original 68

I have the exact same set up. Dm 14 with ninja pro v2 reg. I had similar issues where it leaked at the ASA but my problem was because I got the gun off eBay and the guy unscrewed the screw on the handle which caused a spring and pin internally to come apart. After putting it all back together and screwing in the pin all the way I haven't had any problems though. Not sure if that's the same thing your talking about though.

Same issue here!

Both on my 1.5 Vanquish and my DM14. My Dye tank works fine, but both markers pour air out of the ASA bleed port upon degassing the marker. This only happens with the new Ninja SL with the ball bearing reg.

I own a Ninja V2 reg and do not have this issue with my DM14, I would play around a little bit with the pin housing in the ASA as was suggested before by ProtoSkillz. I noticed that it takes slightly more effort to turn the gas on with this tank on both my DM14 and NT however not enough to bother me whatsoever.

^^ That's the way to go , use the dye tool and adjust the pin housing to your setup

I started out using the full 800 psi that the reg came with, mostly because I'm lazy. I adjusted it down to 500psi after two practices and an event on the off chance one of my Fiance's tanks fails she can use it on her BL markers.

Are you sure its specific to that regulator? If you look at a diagram of the Dye ASA you will see a couple o-rings in the ASA that need to be lubed properly and are not the easiest to get to. If the gun is fairly new they don't always come lubed the best from factory in my experience.

The problem is the length of the ASA pin.

1.buy spare pin from dye.

2. Sand down the one side of the pin by .01 inch

3. Put sanded pin in. Try actuating asa

4 repeat steps 2 and 3 until marker is easily gassed up

The problem is the spring in the V2 reg being a little too short. I got a longer spring from Ninja and now it works great.
