Alright so i got a used 98 custom act. The problems im having are 1 it wont recock after shooting and 2 when it does shoot it wont go above 100psi. I changed out all the orings. Including the ones in the valve. What am i missing?? What could the problem be?
If I can get a little more information from you, I will be able to help.
1) What kind of gas are you using, and is your tank full? If you're using HPA, what is the output pressure on your tank?
2) Have you tried adjusting the velocity screw out (counter clockwise)?
3) Is everything properly lubricated? What kind of lube did you use?
But if I were to take a guess from the information I have, I would say to start by replacing the drive spring.
Please don't be offended by the questions, I'm just trying to get every bit of info I can.
Ive got a 68/45 ninja hpa filled to 3k. Ive tried the velocity screw all the way out and in. Amd everywhere in between. Using lurker lube and some tippmann oil that came w my alpha black. Also is it possible to over lube? Or w the act to put the long metal rod on backwards?
With a 98 Custom its pretty hard to over-lube since they are the paintball equivalent of an AK-47 in terms of reliability and durability.
Try replacing your drive spring, and if it still acts up, then you may need to get an Ninja SHP reg to reach the 950psi tank output needed to get to 300fps velocity. If you want to test out the tank output pressure theory, try using a full Co2 tank as they are a standard output of 950psi.
A while back I had a similar problem, for me it was the power tube as it is called (the black plastic tube TA02066 ) which the rear bolt goes into was cracked. Causing it to fail to recoil fully after each shot. Good luck fixing it.
